Heating bearings makes them easier to install and reduces damage to shafts during installation. Heat expands the bearing's inner race for a snug fit without forcing a tight-fitting bearing onto a shaft. Bearing heaters can also be used on gears, sprockets, pulleys, and bushings. Induction bearing heaters use magnetic induction to heat but do not magnetize parts.
Create a circle of radiant heat to install heat-shrink tubing, seal heat-shrink wire splices, and bend plastic tubing. Use in applications where blowing air is not practical, such as in clean rooms and other controlled environments. Wands can be hand held or bench mounted with the included stand. Height does not include the stand.
Heating elements (sold separately) are required for operation. They are plated to reflect and focus heat. Intermittent-duty heating elements are designed for heating intervals of less than two minutes.
Optional wire guards (sold separately) prevent accidental contact with the heating elements.
