These hex speed nuts can be gripped with a wrench for ease of removal. Quickly thread them to hold fasteners in light duty holding applications. They can also be used as a jam nut to keep hex nuts and bolts securely fastened.

Strong-Grip Clip-On Enclosed Hex Nuts

Also known as S-nuts, these nuts have the strongest grip of any of our clip-on nuts. They firmly squeeze both sides of a thin panel to create a secure fastening point for screws.

Cadmium-Plated Steel—Cadmium-plated steel nuts are more corrosion resistant in wet environments than zinc-plated steel nuts. The plating also adds slipperiness, making them easy to slide onto a panel.

Clip-On Nuts

Clip-On Hex Nut

Because one leg is shorter than the other, you can adjust the position of these nuts before you insert a machine screw. Also known as J-nuts, they have a slightly looser fit on thin panels than U-nuts. These nuts have a hex- or square-shaped barrel, so you can hold them in place with a wrench as you tighten a fastener. Multiple threads in the barrel engage with the screw for secure fastening.

Black Phosphate-Coated Steel—Black phosphate-coated steel nuts are mildly corrosion resistant in dry environments.

Clip-On Hex Nut

Also known as U-nuts, these nuts squeeze both sides of thin panels for a tighter grip than J-nuts. The hex- or square-shaped barrel gives your wrench a spot to grip, so you can keep these nuts in place as you tighten a machine screw. For secure fastening, multiple threads in the barrel engage with your screw.

Flanged Push Nuts for Unthreaded Shafts

The wide flange provides better load distribution than standard push nuts and can be used to cover oversized holes. Also known as thread cutting nuts. Use them on unhardened shafts that are softer than the push nut. The nut bites into the metal to form an interference grip.
