Make parts that slide and rotate. These rods have a slippery, matte plating that prevents wear from metal-to-metal contact, so parts won't seize. This plating is also known as industrial chrome or hard chrome.
6061 is the most widely used aluminum. It balances strength and corrosion resistance, plus it's easy to machine and weld.
