Oil Fittings for Unthreaded Holes
Drive these fittings into unthreaded holes.
Zinc and zinc-plated steel fittings have mild corrosion resistance.
Fittings with a check valve prevent oil from leaking when pressure causes backward flow. The valve stays closed when not in use to keep out dirt and other contaminants. Fittings with a self-closing hinged cover block contaminants from entering equipment.
Note: Fittings do not hold oil; any oil dispensed into the fittings passes into the part to be lubricated.

Oil Fittings
Zinc and zinc-plated steel fittings have mild corrosion resistance. Zinc-plated brass fittings have good corrosion resistance. Nickel-plated brass fittings are more corrosion resistant than zinc-plated brass fittings.
Fitting with a check valve prevents oil from leaking when pressure causes backward flow. The valve stays closed when not in use to keep out dirt and other contaminants. Fittings with a self-closing hinged cover block contaminants from entering equipment.
UNF and UNEF threads are similar to threads on a machine screw or bolt. They require a sealant, such as an O-ring, to minimize leakage.

Oil Cups
A built-in reservoir allows oil to gradually pass through to equipment, reducing time spent on manual lubrication. Flow rate depends on temperature.
Use 90° elbow cups for side-mount applications and where vertical space is limited.
Oil cups with wick feed have a wick that extends through the threaded connection of the cup and keeps the bearing dust-free and lubricated, even after the oil cup is drained.

Grease Cups
Fill the cover with grease and then screw it onto the bowl. As you tighten the cover, grease is squeezed out of the bowl and into your joint, bearing, or equipment.
