Compare wire vs. cable and choose the right option based on gauge, number of conductors, insulation, and current rating.

    Heavy Duty Harsh-Environment Power Cable

Image of Product. Front orientation. Power Cable. Heavy Duty Harsh-Environment Power Cable.
Delivering up to 2,000 volts in the harshest conditions, this Type W cable is often used in mining equipment and drilling rigs. It resists abrasion if you drag it across rocky terrain and won’t get crushed even when heavy equipment drives over it. The EPDM jacket stands up to chemicals, oil, and moisture. MSHA accepted, it meets mining safety standards, so you can rely on it where other power cables fail.

    UV-Resistant Lead Wire

Also known as photovoltaic (PV) wire, this wire won’t deteriorate from UV light when used outdoors. Often used in solar panels, the cross-linked polyethylene (XPLE) insulation won’t break down from prolonged exposure to high temperatures. The insulation also resists chemicals. An RHW-2 industry designation means this wire withstands underground and wet locations.
