The security of a clevis pin with the tight fit of a dowel pin. The diameter of these pins is slightly larger than listed to fill worn or enlarged holes. They have a flat, low-profile head to fit into tight spaces. They’re less likely to get in the way than pins with a loop or T-handle grip, but they’re more difficult to remove. Secure with a cotter pin.
18-8 Stainless Steel—The choice for wet and outdoor environments, these pins resist rusting. They're strong enough to fasten most components but won't withstand stress and vibration as well as steel.
