Crocus Sanding Rolls

The soft abrasive is similar to 1500-2000 grit. After an abrasive sequence, crocus material is good for fine hand-polishing of metal surfaces that require the smoothest finish possible. These rolls can be cut to length. Also known as crocus cloth.

Water-Resistant Sanding Rolls

These rolls resist deterioration when used wet or with grease, chemicals, cutting fluids, and other solvents that may be present when sanding. They can be cut to length. Aluminum oxide is the most common abrasive, hard enough to sand steel and wood. To achieve uniform, close-tolerance finishes on your work surface, choose a roll with a listed micron grade.

Cloth backing resists tearing and can withstand continual bending.

Plastic film backing resists tearing and bends like cloth, plus it has a high-friction coating to prevent slipping on the work surface—particularly good while wet sanding.

Not all grits are available in all lengths.

Clog-Resistant Sanding Rolls

Ceramic alumina grit continually fractures to produce new, sharp cutting edges. It's sharp and dense enough to shape hard metals without dulling quickly.

Silicon carbide is one of the sharpest abrasives and generates minimal heat to prevent material buildup. It is better at fine finishes and polishing than ceramic alumina.
