    Style C

    Using inches or centimeters instead of common levels, such as full or empty, these gauges are more precise than standard gauges when measuring liquid levels. While most gauges are designed for one tank depth, these have a float attached to a cable, so they work with any tank up to the maximum depth listed.
    Style A—Style A gauges come with labels, so you can record the measurements that correspond to common levels such as full, 1/2, and empty.
    Style B—Style B gauges have a dial with a small hand that displays feet and a large hand that displays inches. They come with labels to mark high and low levels on the dial face.

    For use with water, hydraulic fluid, and diesel fuel, install these gauges through the top of your tank. All have an indicator that moves up as the tank fills. To see how full your tank is and if you need to fill or drain it, check the indicator against the graduation marks. Plastic protects the indicator's movement, saving you from inaccurate readings.

    Install these gauges through the top of your tank to monitor diesel fuel, fuel oil, or gasoline level.
    Brass Center Shaft—Gauges with center shafts should reach ½” to 1” above the bottom of your tank to prevent it from touching the bottom.
    Aluminum Float Rod—Gauges with float rods are UL Listed for flammable liquids. For shallower tanks, cut the float rod ½” to 1” shorter than your tank depth to prevent it from touching the bottom.

    Combine a pair of valves with a gauge glass and four guard rods to build a complete level indicator. All valves include an automatic shut-off. To determine the length of gauge glass needed, subtract 2” from the valve center-to-center length. Then, choose a gauge glass based on the liquid pressure.

    Straight

    Monitor hydraulic fluid or oil level in gear boxes, crank cases, and other reservoirs. These indicators mount from the outside of your tank. The gauge shield, which protects the indicator from impact, rotates 360° for optimal viewing. Use these indicators in nonpressure applications. All have a vent to prevent pressure from building up and causing an inaccurate level to display. You can also unthread the vent and replace it with your own vent, plug, fitting, or sensor.
    40-Micron Filter—Indicators with a 40-micron filter keep out particles as small as table salt.
    Drain—Indicators with a drain allow you to sample hydraulic fluid from the reservoir.
    Swivel Fitting—Indicators with a swivel fitting have a two-piece construction, so they can be quickly disconnected.

    316 Stainless Steel—316 stainless steel indicators are more corrosion resistant than brass or bronze indicators. They have a stainless steel drain valve and be used on expansion tanks.
    Needle Stem—Indicators with needle stem have a stem in the lower shut-off valve to clear the orifice as the valve closes.
    Automatic Shutoff—Indicators with automatic shut-off will temporarily close if the gauge glass breaks. The valves must be closed manually for permanent shut-off.

    Check the level of liquids containing chemicals such as alcohol-based solvents, boric acid, and sodium bicarbonate. These indicators can be used in pressurized applications where overflow is a concern. All have an aluminum gauge shield that protects the glass window from impact. Clear liquids magnify a red line at the back of the window, so their levels are easier to see.

    Heavy Duty Liquid-Level Indicators

    Monitor liquid level in applications that have vibration, high pressures, and high temperatures. These indicators have steel chambers, glass windows, and seals made of fiber and SBR rubber to resist corrosion and withstand higher temperatures than other level indicators. Use them with a wide variety of liquids, such as petroleum, chemicals, and natural gas. All meet ASME BPVC.VIII.1 safety standards for pressure vessels, so they’re approved for use in low-pressure water and steam applications too. Their gauge is made of reflex glass, which shows the level of liquid behind the glass, but not the liquid’s color or any particulates in it. Also known as armored level gauges.

    Gaskets

    Shut-Off Valves—Add shut-off valves to stop flow with the turn of a wheel. They’re offset to help you access the inside of the gauge’s glass with minimal disassembly. This makes it easy to clean or replace the glass or entire indicator. These valves also stop flow automatically if the indicator glass breaks, preventing the loss of fluid. However, for permanent shut-off you must close them manually. Put one valve on top of your indicator and one on the bottom for a 90° connection between the indicator and your tank. To connect the female threads on your indicator to the female gauge threads on the shut-off valve, use a male pipe nipple (not included).

    Made with clear, shatter-resistant plastic, these indicators don't require a shield to protect them like other oil-level indicators, so you can check your hydraulic fluid or oil level from any angle. They’re often found on gear boxes, crank cases, and other reservoirs. These indicators mount from the outside of your tank. The vent prevents pressure buildup, which can affect the level displayed. Within the vent, there is a filter for keeping out particles as small as table salt. Unthread the vent to clean its filter or to replace it with your own vent, plug, fitting, or sensor. These indicators also have adjustable rings for marking levels critical to your system.

    Oil-Level and Temperature Indicators

    Simultaneously monitor the hydraulic fluid or oil level and temperature in gear boxes, crank cases, and other reservoirs. These indicators mount from the outside of your tank. The gauge shield rotates 360° for optimal viewing. They are for use in nonpressure applications. All have a vent to prevent pressure from building up and causing an inaccurate level to display.
