    Multipurpose Abrasive Blasting Media

Image of Product. Front orientation. Abrasive Blasting Media.
Particle mesh size is the number of holes in a 1"-square screen. As the mesh number gets larger, the number of holes per inch increases, the size of each individual hole decreases, and the media becomes finer. Grit refers to coarseness; the lower the number, the coarser the grit.
Steel Grit—Leaves a textured surface to enhance the bonding ability of paint and other coatings.
Steel Shot—Generates a high-impact force to clean and peen heavy forgings and remove heat-treated scale on steel and other cast metals.
Glass Bead—Round beads remove carbon and surface residue for a smooth, bright finish. It is inert and leaves no residue. Peens aluminum and plastic.
Black Beauty Grit—Also known as black diamond and black blast, it's the best alternative to silica sand. Contains less than 0.1% free silica. It's inert and moisture free. Not recommended for removing paint from aluminum and plastic.
Stainless Steel Shot—Outlasts glass bead and Black Beauty grit by a ratio of 1,000 to 1. It descales nonferrous metals and peens aluminum and plastic. Not recommended for removing paint from aluminum and plastic.
Glass/Aluminum Oxide Grit—A mixture of glass bead and aluminum oxide removes tough corrosion in applications where 100% aluminum oxide is too aggressive.
Ground Glass—A lightweight alternative to sand and grit, it leaves a rough surface.

Hard Abrasive Blasting Media for Heavy Removal

Image of Product. Front orientation. Abrasive Blasting Media.
These abrasives penetrate deep and work fast for rapid and aggressive removal. Particle mesh size is the number of holes in a 1"-square screen. As the mesh number gets larger, the number of holes per inch increases, the size of each individual hole decreases, and the media becomes finer. Grit refers to coarseness; the lower the number, the coarser the grit.
Aluminum Oxide Grit—Sharp, hard, and durable, it prepares surfaces for coating. It also frosts glass.
Silicon Carbide Grit—Quickly cleans granite, ceramics, silicon, quartz, cemented carbides, and other tough materials.
Garnet Grit—More aggressive than other blasting media, it cuts faster while producing less dust.

Soft Abrasive Blasting Media for Delicate Materials

Image of Product. Front orientation. Abrasive Blasting Media.
Prevent scratching and marring the surface of delicate materials. Particle mesh size is the number of holes in a 1"-square screen. As the mesh number gets larger, the number of holes per inch increases, the size of each individual hole decreases, and the media becomes finer. Grit refers to coarseness; the lower the number, the coarser the grit.
Walnut Shell—Soft-grit shells clean, polish, and debur soft metals, fiberglass, plastic, wood, and stone.
Corn Cob—Use for delicate parts. Clean metal, wood, fiberglass, plastic, and masonry. It won't frost glass, pit aluminum, or damage surfaces.
Plastic Grit—Easily removes coatings and build-up without marring and warping.
Sodium Bicarbonate (Baking Soda)—Scours almost any material. After use, it can be washed away with water.
