Loosen stubborn fasteners—these wrenches operate at full torque counterclockwise to break stuck bolts free. You can also use them clockwise within their working torque range to tighten fasteners more quickly than with manual wrenches. Use these wrenches with impact sockets only. Air-powered tools require lubrication to operate properly.

D-Handle Grip—D-handle grip wrenches are heavier than straight or pistol grip wrenches, so you need to use two hands to deliver their full power.

Ring Socket Retainer—Ring-style socket retainers are good for quick socket changes—just pull the socket off the retainer and push on another one.

Ring and Hole Socket Retainer—Ring-and-hole and hole-style socket retainers hold sockets more securely than ring-style retainers and require a retaining ring. Hole-style socket retainers are also known as positive locking retainers.

Air-Powered Ratchet Wrenches


	Ball-Detent-Style Socket Retainer

Faster than manual ratchet wrenches, these ratchet wrenches run on air to turn fasteners quickly. They have a steel head that protects the ratchet mechanism from bumps and drops in the shop. Socket changes are quick—the ball-detent style socket retainer lets you pull one socket off and push another one on. All operate at maximum torque in both clockwise and counterclockwise directions. Air-powered tools require lubrication to run properly.

Backlash Protection—Wrenches with backlash protection won’t kick back once a fastener is tightened, keeping your knuckles from banging into nearby objects. These wrenches put a lot of force on the socket, so you’ll need to use them with an impact socket (sold separately).

Air-Powered Screwdrivers

Connect these tools to your shop air to quickly install and remove fasteners. With fewer moving parts than battery-powered screwdrivers, these are less likely to overheat when used continuously. They also operate at higher speeds than battery-powered screwdrivers, so they're great for production lines and other high-volume jobs when you're on a time crunch.

Pistol Grip—The angled handle keeps your wrist in a comfortable, natural position, reducing fatigue during lengthy projects.

Direct Drive—These screwdrivers will spin as long as you press the trigger. They don't have any built-in mechanism for preventing overtightening or limiting torque, so they're best for jobs where speed matters more than precision. You don't have to push on the screw to turn the bit, so they're often used to fasten compressible materials.

Positive-Clutch Drive—Designed to prevent overtightening, these screwdrivers are best for jobs that require consistent torque, such as electronics. Pull the trigger and push on the screw to start turning the bit. They'll stop automatically when they reach the max torque.

Air-Powered Tap Wrenches

Powered by compressed air, these tap wrenches thread holes faster and with less effort than manual tap wrenches. They’re often used in place of manual tap wrenches when threading many holes and hard materials. Compared to drill presses and CNC machines, which are stationary, these wrenches are portable so you can take them to the part that needs to be threaded. To remove chips from your hole, press the reverse button to rotate the tap counterclockwise. Switch different taps in and out of the chuck when your tap is worn down or you need a new size. Use with machine tool taps and tapping lubricants for best results.
