They meet OSHA 29 CFR 1910.145 safety color standards for indicating hazards. Some of these signs also have text, symbols, and colors that meet ANSI Z535 safety standards.
Warning headers indicate a moderately hazardous situation that, if not avoided, may result in death or serious injury.For indoor use, choose between vinyl and polyethylene signs. Vinyl signs are the least expensive. Some vinyl signs have an adhesive back and some have mounting holes. Polyethylene signs are more durable than vinyl signs.
For outdoor use, aluminum signs are the best choice. They are more durable than plastic signs, and they will not corrode from moisture and extreme temperatures.
