These backup rings support O-rings to extend their life and prevent them from deforming under pressure, which can cause pressure loss. Made of PTFE, they’re rigid enough to hold their shape under load, yet slippery enough to reduce friction in moving parts. They also resist a wide range of chemicals. Often used in pipeline valves and chemical processing equipment, they have a split ring design to simplify installation. All have a shelf life, cure date, and a traceable lot number printed on the bag.
