    Multipurpose Low-Carbon Steel—Low-carbon steel balls are our easiest steel balls to machine. They are often used for parts that don’t require high strength, such as knobs. These balls can be surface hardened with heat treating for added wear resistance.
    Wear-Resistant 52100 Alloy Steel—High carbon and chromium content makes this 52100 alloy steel extremely hard and resistant to wear. It’s also known as chrome steel. Often used as bearings, these balls are hardened for increased abrasion and impact resistance.
    Tight-Tolerance Wear-Resistant 52100 Alloy Steel—The diameter of these balls is held to a precise tolerance. They’re made from 52100 alloy steel, also known as chrome steel, which has high levels of carbon and chromium to make them extremely hard and resistant to wear. Often used as bearings, these balls are also hardened to increase their abrasion and impact resistance.
    Shock-Resistant S2 Tool Steel—This S2 tool steel has been hardened for excellent strength and impact resistance. It has a tough core that resists breaking under shock loads.

    Plastic Balls

    Delrin® Acetal—Able to hold tight tolerances, these balls resist expanding when exposed to heat and moisture. They have a naturally slippery, wear-resistant surface. Use them for bearings and low-load rolling applications. Delrin® acetal resin is also known as acetal homopolymer.
    Polypropylene—Resistant to swelling when exposed to water, these balls are often used in laboratory applications.
    HDPE—Often used in check valves, relief valves, and float valves, these balls won’t swell when exposed to water. HDPE offers good chemical resistance.
    Nylon—Use these nylon 6/6 balls as bearings and in sealing applications. They have a slippery surface that reduces wear caused by friction.
    Acrylic Plastic—A lightweight alternative to glass balls, acrylic balls maintain clarity over time. They are scratch and UV resistant, so they stand up to outdoor use better than polycarbonate.
    Polycarbonate—Offering excellent impact resistance across a wide temperature range, these polycarbonate balls are only half the weight of glass. This material is comparable to Lexan, Hyzod, Tuffak, and Makrolon.
    PTFE—Offering a nonstick, slippery surface, these PTFE balls are often used as bearings and in ball valves. They offer superior chemical resistance and perform well in extreme temperatures. These balls are also excellent electrical insulators.
    Torlon PAI—Dimensionally stable and slippery, these balls are often used in high-friction applications, such as nonlubricated rollers and ball bearings.

    Rubber Balls

    Multipurpose Neoprene—Oil and abrasion resistant. Let balls bounce around the inside of vibrating sifters to clean screens, or use them as seals in pumps and check valves.
    Weather-Resistant EPDM—These balls won’t degrade from sunlight, ozone, or water. They can be used to clean screens inside vibrating sifters, damp vibration inside assemblies, and seal pumps and check valves.
    Oil-Resistant Buna-N—These balls offer good resistance to petroleum-based oils. Use them as seals in pumps and check valves or let them bounce inside of vibrating sifters for an effective screen cleaner.
    Steam- and Highly Chemical-Resistant Aflas—Chemical and steam resistant, these balls stand up to harsh chemicals such as ethylene glycol and nitric acid. They're often found in sterilization and water treatment processes, where they’re used as seals in pumps and check valves.
    Highly Chemical-Resistant Viton® Fluoroelastomer—Resist harsh chemicals and high temperatures in applications as extreme as aerospace fuel systems. These balls withstand chemicals such as nitric acid, ethylene glycol, and isopropyl alcohol. Viton® has better resistance to solvents and petroleum-based fuels than Aflas, but it doesn't hold up as well to steam and strong acids.

    High-Strength Fracture- and Wear-Resistant Zirconia Ceramic Balls

    Often used instead of metal in bearings and rollers, these balls are ideal for applications where strength under heavy loads and wear resistance is needed. It's the addition of yttria that gives this zirconia more strength and lowers the chances of cracking from impact than standard zirconia, alumina, and silicon nitride ceramic. If cracks do occur, they will not spread, extending the life and reliability of the material. It also means this zirconia blend resists wearing down from rubbing against another part or abrasion from chemical slurries.
    These balls do not withstand rapid temperature changes or high temperatures as well as other high-performance ceramics such as ceramic alumina and silicon nitride ceramic.

    Hitch Pin Locks

    Style A

    Secure trailers to vehicles by locking the hitch pin into the receiver—you can't disconnect the trailer without the key. Use them to prevent someone from stealing your trailer or moving it. Built to stand up to any weather, they're great for outdoor trailers. The lock body rotates around your hitch pin, so you can easily reach the key into the cylinder to unlock. A plastic cover protects the key cylinder from water and debris, so it won’t freeze, corrode, or jam.
    Style A—Style A lock from the side of your vehicle—access to the key cylinder is perpendicular to the hitch. These locks do not include a hole for a cotter pin. Made of steel, they’re stronger than stainless steel locks. Zinc plating adds corrosion resistance. The included cover is a separate piece.
    Keyed Differently—Choose keyed differently locks if you need locks that each open with a different key.
