    Open—With no rubber seal to block airflow, these bearings dissipate heat quickly, extending the life of the lubricant and reducing friction over time.
    Shielded—The balls are covered just enough to keep out large particles while allowing air to pass through and dissipate heat.

    Support radial and thrust loads at the same time. These bearings are often found inside equipment such as gearboxes and pumps. For example, a bearing inside a gearbox withstands a radial load when the gear is engaged and a momentary thrust load when you shift to a new one.     Oil-Embedded Thrust Bearings

    Our simplest-to-use thrust bearings, with no moving parts and no need to lubricate. Their porous surface releases oil over time, so you can install and forget them. While they run in most conditions, oil may drip away if temperatures climb too high. For extremely hot environments, consider graphite-lubricated bearings. All are fabricated, lubricated, and inspected in the U.S.
    841 Bearing Bronze—A balance of strength and speed makes these bearings a good choice for most applications. Also known as SAE 841 bearing bronze.
    Synthetic Oil Base—A high-quality lubricant makes all the difference. Synthetic oil is less sensitive to temperature changes than mineral oil, so it won't get runny and leak away if the bearing heats up.

    These hardened steel washers protect softer shafts and housings from the rolling contact of needle rollers.     With thickness tolerances as fine as a strand of hair, these shims precisely align, space, and level components on shafts, arbors, and machinery.
    You can stack multiple shims to achieve your exact thickness, but stacking more than four may cause them to shift. Remember, fewer shims are better, so a couple of thicker shims are more stable than a bunch of thin shims.
    18-8 Stainless Steel—The choice for wet and outdoor environments, these shims resist rust. However, they’ll corrode or pit when exposed to salt water and chemicals.
    Carbon Steel—Best for dry environments since moisture will cause these shims to rust.
    Stress-Resistant Spring Steel—These shims are harder and hold their shape better than carbon steel. Use them for high-stress applications, such as leveling heavy machinery. They're best for dry environments since moisture will cause them to rust.

    Often paired with spring lock washers to strengthen their hold, these bearing nuts—also known as shaft nuts—keep vibration from shifting bearings, bushings, pulleys, and gears on your threaded shaft or spindle. They have slotted sides, so you can tighten and loosen them with a spanner wrench or spanner socket.
    Carbon Steel—Carbon steel bearing nuts are strong and resist wear.
    Stepped Face—Use stepped-face bearing nuts with DIN 462 spring lock washers. You can also use them in pairs or with other bearing nuts. For the nut closer to the bearing, position the stepped face towards the bearing. All meet DIN standards for bearing lockout dimensions.

    Used in pairs or with another bearing nut, these thin-profile nuts—often called shaft nuts—hold bearings, bushings, pulleys, and gears in place on your threaded shaft or spindle. Threading two nuts tightly against each other makes it harder for vibration to loosen your assembly than if you used only one nut.
