Prevent automatic doors from closing on a person or an object—these switches immediately turn machinery off when actuated with minimal force. Combine with a controller (sold separately) to create a self-monitoring system that also shuts off machinery when a fault is detected. They’re sensitive along their entire length and often used to signal when an overhead door closes or when an item reaches the end of a conveyor. The attached mounting channel can be mounted to a door or flat surface. Punch or drill holes into the channel to match an existing hole pattern or create a new mounting pattern. Switches are rated IP65 for protection from washdowns.

    Wear-Resistant Bumper Switches

Image of Product. Front orientation. Bumper Switches. Wear-Resistant Bumper Switches.
Made of polycarbonate, these switches won't wear down even as objects constantly bump into them, unlike rubber bumper switches. They come in a sealed housing, so you don't need a mounting channel. Sensitive along their entire length, they're often used to signal when they've been hit by a cart or other rolling equipment.

    Ribbon Switches

Step or press anywhere along the switch to control doors, lights, or alarms. These switches are often placed across driveways and walkways to detect foot and vehicle traffic. Rated IP67, they can be temporarily submerged in puddles without the water harming their internal parts. These switches are bright yellow, so they can easily be spotted from far away. Made from PVC, they are flexible enough to conform to irregular and uneven surfaces.

    Corrosion-Resistant Low-Profile Ribbon Switches

Made with stainless steel conductors, these switches resist corrosion in damp areas. They’re less than 1/4” thick, so they’ll fit under floor mats and in other tight spaces. Control doors, lights, and alarms by pressing or stepping anywhere along the switch to actuate it. They’re more rigid than other strip switches, so mounting channels aren’t necessary—just stick them in place with mounting tape.

    Roller Plunger

    Actuator

Secure these switches into panel cutouts using mounting nuts. They have a slim body so they can also be stacked together or fit into tight spaces. These switches have the rapid-closing action of a snap-acting switch, but have a larger actuator for large objects. When an object in motion comes into contact with the actuator, it sends a signal to open or close a circuit. They’re often used on conveyor systems and elevators. All are rated IP67 for protection from temporary submersion. They have a 4-pole micro M12 plug that connects to cables with a socket (sold separately), allowing you to quickly connect and disconnect the switch.
Plunger Actuator—Plunger actuators open or close circuits when objects push against them.
Roller Plunger Actuator—Roller plunger actuators open or close circuits when an object pushes against the roller, which moves the plunger. The roller moves parallel to the mounting direction, so it helps push the plunger even if the force isn’t straight on. The roller also reduces friction during actuation which prevents wear and tear over time.

Rated NEMA 3S and IP69K, these switches can handle washdowns with high pressures and temperatures. They’re also protected from oil/coolant spraying, precipitation, and temporary submersion. When an object in motion contacts the actuator, it sends a signal to open or close a circuit. These switches have the rapid-closing action of a snap-acting switch, but with a larger actuator. This makes them a good choice for use with large objects—for instance, a box on a conveyor runs into the switch, stopping the conveyor.
Plunger Actuator—Switches with a plunger actuator require a push to actuate, similar to a button.
Roller Plunger Actuator—Switches with a roller plunger actuator trigger just like a plunger actuator but reduce friction during actuation thanks to their roller. This limits wear and tear on the switch.
Roller Lever Actuator—Switches with a roller lever actuator combine the larger actuation area of a standard lever with a smooth gliding roller actuator. They minimize friction to limit wear and tear on your switch.
Rod Actuator—Switches with a rod actuator use a rod extending out of the body to actuate, so they’ll activate even if an object is far away.
Wobble Stick Actuator—Switches with a wobble stick actuator have an arm that rotates 360°, so you don’t need to align it in a specific direction. Since the actuator is flexible, it won’t snap if pushed backward. That makes these switches a great choice for systems that get jammed often.
Styles D-F—Styles D, E, and F let you adjust the actuator’s height to align it with your target.

    Heavy Duty Safety Switch Mats

Image of Product. Front orientation. Switch Mats. Heavy Duty Safety Switch Mats.
Thicker than standard safety switch mats, these can withstand repeated impact from heavy and sharp objects. They turn equipment off when stepped on or when a fault is detected, preventing personnel from getting too close to dangerous equipment when equipment is on. A complete switch requires a mat and a controller (sold separately). Together they meet ANSI/RIA R15.06 safety requirements. Mats are rated IP65 for protection from washdowns.

Image of Product. Front orientation. Contains Inset. Switch Mats. Safety Switch Mats, Diamond-Tread Surface.
Mats with diamond tread have a raised pattern on the surface to add traction and prevent slipping. Made from aluminum, they’re more durable than plastic mats, and less likely to be punctured or damaged by impact. However, they’re also more rigid than plastic mats, so they can only be used on flat surfaces. These mats are often used in high-traffic welding shops and freight warehouses.

Stack these slim switches together, or fit them into tight spaces. They're rated IP67 for protection from temporary submersion. When an object in motion comes into contact with the actuator, it sends a signal to open or close a circuit. These switches have the rapid-closing action of a snap-acting switch, but have a larger actuator for large objects. They’re often used on conveyor systems and elevators.
Roller Lever Actuator—Roller lever actuators open or close circuits when material moves across the switch. The roller reduces friction during actuation which prevents wear and tear over time.
Wobble Stick Actuator—Wobble stick actuators open or close circuits when an object hits the flexible arm. The arm has a 360° range of motion, so it can be actuated from any direction. This means that if there’s a jam, these switches are less likely to break than switches that are aligned to a specific direction.
4-Pole M12 Connection—Switches with a 4-pole M12 plug connect to cords with a socket (sold separately), allowing you to quickly connect and disconnect the switch.

A sealed actuator prevents these switches from jamming, even when exposed to sand, mud, or dirt. They're also rated IP67 for temporary submersion. With a slim design, you can stack them or fit them in tight spaces. When an object in motion comes into contact with the actuator, it sends a signal to open or close a circuit. These switches have the rapid-closing action of a snap-acting switch, but with a larger actuator. This makes them a good choice for use with large objects. For instance, a box on a conveyor runs into the switch, stopping the conveyor.
Plunger Actuator—Switches with a plunger actuator require a push to actuate, similar to a button.
Roller Plunger Actuator—Switches with a roller plunger actuator have a roller that moves when an object pushes the actuator. This reduces friction during actuation to limit wear and tear on your switch.
Cross Roller Plunger Actuator—Switches with a cross roller plunger actuator have a roller that moves when an object pushes the actuator. This reduces friction during actuation to limit wear and tear on your switch. The roller moves perpendicular to the mounting direction.
4-Pole M12 Connection—Switches with a 4-pole M12 plug connect to cords with a socket (sold separately), allowing you to quickly connect and disconnect the switch.
