Replacement Thread-Mount Keyless Drill Chucks
for DeWalt, Milwaukee, and Makita Cordless Drills
Replace the chuck on your DeWalt, Makita, or Milwaukee portable drill. These chucks are keyless, letting you swap bits in and out with a quick twist of the sleeve. Choose a chuck that matches your drill's model number. To upgrade your chuck, check out our Thread-Mount Keyless Drill Chucks.
Milwaukee chucks have carbide jaws, so they resist wear better than chucks with steel jaws. This helps them maintain a tighter grip on your bit over time. However, they’re more brittle than chucks with steel jaws, so they can chip or crack if dropped.
Chucks that cannot be sold to the listed areas are restricted due to product regulations.

Thread-Mount Keyless Drill Chucks

Switch between drilling and driving bits in seconds. These keyless chucks require only a quick twist of their sleeve to lock and release bits. Most often used in hand-held power drills, they're a great choice for most drilling and fastening jobs, including low-torque, high-speed drilling in soft or thin materials.
Economy chucks are best for occasional drilling. They are a cost-effective upgrade from the one that comes on your hand-held power drill.
Standard chucks work for most everyday drilling jobs in hand-held power drills. Their grip tightens as torque increases for a reliable hold on your bit that reduces wear to extend life. Chucks with carbide jaws resist wear better than chucks with steel jaws, so they maintain a tighter grip on your bit over time. However, they’re more brittle, so they can chip or crack if dropped.
Chucks with a ratchet lock have teeth that tightly grip bits for drilling in both directions, even under high torque and vibration. The ratcheting mechanism makes it easy to tighten and release bits. Chucks without a ratchet lock are commonly used on stationary machines, such as drill presses. Mount them with a threaded drill chuck arbor.

Thread-Mount Keyed Drill Chucks

Thread these chucks onto the spindle of portable drills and stationary machines to hold bits. They're a keyed chuck, so they hold the bit tightly, preventing it from slipping under load. Use the included key to tighten and loosen the jaws. If your machine doesn’t have a threaded spindle, mount them with a threaded drill chuck arbor.
To maximize grip and minimize wobble, choose a chuck where your drill bit diameter falls in the middle of the shank size range.
Light duty chucks are small and lightweight, so they're optimized for the low-torque drilling needed for wood and plastic. They have a two-piece sleeve that would wear out quickly from the friction created when drilling in hard materials such as steel.
Medium duty chucks work for most drilling jobs in metal, wood, and plastic. A one-piece sleeve keeps them rigid when drilling in hard materials, such as steel. For accuracy and longevity, they have hardened wear points and center-ground jaws that grip the bit evenly.
Heavy duty chucks give you the rigidity and heft needed for high-torque drilling in hardened metal. Their extra mass means they resist vibration and fluctuating cutting forces to keep your bit stable. While they share all of the same features as medium duty chucks—one-piece sleeve, center-ground jaws, and hardened wear points—they grip bits tighter and stay accurate longer under heavy loads.

Corrosion-Resistant Thread-Mount Keyless Drill Chucks

Made of stainless steel, these chucks maintain smooth, precise operation even when exposed to moisture and chemicals. They're keyless, letting you swap bits in and out with a quick twist of the sleeve. Use them for low-torque, high-speed drilling. As torque increases, their grip tightens on the bit. Mount them to the threaded spindles of hand-held drills. For machines without spindles, mount them to a threaded drill chuck arbor.
A through hole allows long bits to pass through without hitting the back of the chuck. They can also be used on an electrical discharge machine (EDM) to hold electrodes and let fluid pass through.
To maximize grip and minimize runout, choose a chuck where your drill bit diameter falls in the middle of the bit shank size range.
McMaster-Carr approved chucks are made on the same equipment that once produced Jacobs chucks in Europe, so you get high-quality performance without the brand-name price. Their sleeve is smooth, so it's easy to clean and won't tear disposable gloves. They use NSF registered H1 grease that is safe for use in food processing areas as long as it doesn't directly touch food.
Albrecht chucks are known for their unmatched quality. Made in Germany, every chuck undergoes multiple inspections and tests to ensure they operate smoothly and keep your bits aligned over their long life. They don’t contain lubricant, so they won’t contaminate your work area or accumulate dust. They’re great for sensitive areas, such as medical environments.

Economy Thread-Mount Keyed Drill Chucks

Designed for occasional use, these drill chucks mount onto small hand-held power drills with threaded spindles. They have a compact body with plain bearings and a two-piece sleeve that's best for the light force needed when drilling wood, plastic, and soft metals. Tighten the jaws with the included key to securely grip bits. They’re also known as Multi-Craft chucks.
To maximize grip and minimize wobble, choose a chuck where your drill bit diameter falls in the middle of the shank size range.

Thread-Mount Drill Chucks for Hammer Drills

Lock your bits in to handle the intense vibration and impact of hammer drilling. These chucks have a built-in ring that prevents your bit from slipping as you drill through tough materials such as concrete and masonry. They mount to the threaded spindle on your hammer drill.
Keyless chucks are a great choice for jobs that switch between hammer drilling and fastening with the same tool. Swap bits in and out with a quick twist of the sleeve. As torque increases, their grip will tighten. Twist the ring on the outside of these chucks to prevent the jaws from loosening.
Keyed chucks grip your bit tighter than keyless chucks do, so they’re better for high torque drilling. Use the included key to tighten or loosen the jaws. The ring inside these chucks absorbs vibration to prevent the jaws from loosening.

Even when exposed to moisture and chemicals, these stainless steel chucks maintain smooth, precise operation. They’re keyed, so their jaw locks securely around bits—use the included key to tighten and loosen their hold.
