    Ready-to-Use Circuit Board Kits

Image of Product. Front orientation. Circuit Boards. Ready-to-Use Circuit Board Kits.
Rapidly prototype and troubleshoot issues on a no-solder circuit board and then transfer your final design to a board with solder pads for permanent connections. These kits come with two boards that have the same markings and layout, so it's easy to translate your prototype to your final design.

    No-Solder Ready-to-Use Circuit Boards

Also known as no-solder breadboards. A contact point inside each hole creates a connection without soldering. Use the terminal strips to connect your electronic components.

    Single-Board Computers

Combine the functionality of a PC with the flexibility of a development board’s digital inputs and outputs. These computers are faster than development boards and also have more memory, so they’re able to run multiple applications simultaneously. Use them to prototype or program complex automation jobs, such as controlling the movements of a robot arm or livestreaming video from a remote facility. About the size of a credit card, they easily mount inside control cabinets.
These computers run on a Linux-based operating system. To program, download an operating system onto a micro SD card (not included) and then transfer it to the single-board computer.
Use sets to start prototyping automation systems.
    Sold as Sets
Image of Product. Front orientation. Single-Board Computers. Sold as Sets.
5 Pieces—5-piece sets come with the basic hardware needed to get the computer up and running. Use them to run local and web-based applications for your system.
94 Pieces, 96 Pieces, and 97 Pieces—94-, 96-, and 97-piece sets include all of the hardware in the 5-piece sets, as well as some electrical components. Use the components to prototype your physical system, which might incorporate temperature and pressure sensors (not included) using the Qwiic adapter, push button controls, and LED indicators.

All the hardware and components needed to start building simple automation systems. With configurable inputs and outputs, the boards in these kits are often used to prototype electronics. Monitor both digital and analog devices, including proximity and temperature sensors, and control basic outputs, such as changing the speed of a servomotor or turning LEDs on and off. Their open-source software makes programming and troubleshooting convenient. Kits include an instructional project book, making them good for learning the basics of coding and electronics.

    Electronic Component Assortments

Image of Product. Front orientation. Electronic Component Assortments.
Keep a variety of electronic components on hand for building and repairing circuits. These assortments include both through-hole and surface-mount components. Through-hole components have wire leads to push through holes in a circuit board. Solder them in place and clip off the excess wire. Surface-mount components are often installed with automated equipment. Solder them directly to your circuit board.

    Circuit Board Capacitors

Circuit board capacitors store electrical energy and release it all at once, similar to a camera flash. They're often used to boost power briefly to start a motor, filter electric current for a clear signal, or smooth out current spikes.
Capacitance is how much charge a capacitor stores, measured in farads. One microfarad (µF) is equal to 1,000 nanofarads (nF), and 1 nanofarad is equal to 1,000 picofarads (pF).

Through-hole circuit board capacitors have parallel wire leads, also known as radial leads. Push the wire leads through holes in a circuit board, then solder them in place and clip off the excess wire.
Ceramic Capacitor—Ceramic capacitors withstand a wide range of temperatures, but they typically don’t store as much charge as aluminum electrolytic capacitors. They work well at high frequencies.

    Diode Assortments

Control voltage and current in circuits with a variety of diodes.
    Standard, Schottky, and Zener Diodes
Image of Product. Front orientation. Diodes. Diode Assortments, Standard Diode.
Standard diodes keep the current in a circuit flowing in one direction. Use them to manipulate signals or to protect your circuit from reverse currents, such as those created when a motor stops or slows down.
Schottky diodes have faster switching speeds than other diodes, so they’re used to channel current in a single direction in circuits that switch frequently. They’re often found in radios and data processors.
Zener diodes regulate voltage in a circuit. When installed in reverse, they won’t conduct current until a set voltage is reached. After that point, they maintain the same voltage. Because they provide a stable voltage, they are often used as a reference point in amplifiers and other voltage-sensitive circuits.

    Circuit Board LED Light Bulbs

Often used as status indicators, in displays, or to check circuit function in prototyping and testing, these bulbs have wire terminals to directly install onto circuit boards. As LEDs, they last longer, are more efficient, and produce less heat than other types of bulbs. Vibration won’t cause these bulbs to malfunction. Brightness is measured in lumens; the higher the lumens, the brighter the bulb. They require a resistor (sold separately) to limit current.

Image of Product. Front orientation. RFID Readers. RFID Reader Kits for Development Boards.
Image of Product. Reader. Top orientation. RFID Readers. RFID Reader Kits for Development Boards, One Reader.

    Reader

Scan RFID cards when prototyping systems for item tracking and conveyor sorting. These readers scan one card at a time without requiring a direct line of sight, so they'll work in areas where bar code scanners can't. An LED and a buzzer indicate each successful scan. Readers connect to your development board with an included Qwiic cord that snaps into place, saving you the effort of soldering. If your board doesn’t have a Qwiic connection, choose a cord with a machine-pin plug. The two included RFID cards, as well as additional cards, have unique IDs and cannot be rewritten.
Sensing Distance—Sensing distance for your reader is reduced when cards are misaligned or scanned in hot or cold environments. The sensing distance in the table below represents typical factory conditions for the included card.

    Resistors

Limit the electrical current that flows through your circuit, adjust signal levels, and divide voltages.
    Resistor Assortments
Image of Product. Front orientation. Resistors. Resistor Assortments.
Carbon-Film Resistor—For through-hole mounting, carbon film resistors have bendable leads that can be soldered to wire or to perforated circuit boards. Carbon film resistors have a ±5% resistance tolerance, which is good for use in most applications.
Metal-Film Resistor—For through-hole mounting, metal film resistors have bendable leads that can be soldered to wire or to perforated circuit boards. Metal film resistors have a ±1% resistance tolerance. Use them when you need precise control over electrical current, such as in testing sensitive electronics.
Thick-Film Resistor—For surface mounting, thick film resistors can be soldered to printed circuit boards.
