Radios

Five-Watt
Radio
All of these radios operate on FCC designated business frequencies that require an FCC license. A frequency is the discrete setting on which a radio's transmission is carried; radios must operate on the same frequency to communicate with each other. They cannot be sold outside the United States due to product registration requirements.
Radios with multiple channels allow you to put different groups of users on an assigned frequency so they can operate within the same area without talking over each other. Change channels with the press of a button.
For better coverage and clearer transmissions, choose a radio with high wattage.
UHF radios work best in and around steel and concrete structures.
VHF radios work best in and around wood structures.
Radios with voice scramble allow you to input a privacy code—transmissions sound garbled to anyone listening without the same code.

CB Radios

CB radios use nonbusiness designated frequencies and do not require a FCC license. A frequency is the discrete setting on which a radio's transmission is carried; radios must operate on the same frequency to communicate with each other.
Channels allow you to put different groups of users on an assigned frequency so they can operate within the same area without talking over each other. Change channels by dialing the knob.
The squelch control feature lets you filter out static when the radio isn't transmitting.

Line-of-Sight Radios

Also known as walkie talkies, these radios work best at short distances in areas with little to no obstructions. They operate on FRS (Family Radio Service) and GMRS (General Mobile Radio Service) frequencies and require an FCC license, but won't work on FCC designated business frequencies and are not intended for commercial business use. A frequency is the discrete setting on which a radio's transmission is carried; radios must operate on the same frequency to communicate with each other. They cannot be sold outside of the United States due to product registration requirements.

Wired Headset Radios

Connect two headsets with an audio cable to transmit sound—your voice powers the radio’s microphone.
Behind-head style can be worn under a hard hat.
Use a wall plate jack to create a fixed system between locations. Plug a radio into the jack and start talking. Any number of jacks may be wired together.
Use a clip adapter to temporarily connect a radio to two wires rather than using a fixed wall plate jack system.

Hazardous Location Intercoms

These intercoms are rated for environments where hazardous material is present. They have screw terminals for hardwiring. Intercoms are NEMA 4X and IP65 rated for protection from corrosion and washdowns.
Hazardous location environmental ratings indicate whether manufacturers have included safety features in products to facilitate their safe use in a hazardous environment. Before selecting a product for a hazardous location, ensure it is rated for your environment. See About Hazardous Location Environmental Ratings.

Headsets with Microphone

Make hands-free calls from your computer, laptop, smartphone, or other device. The headphones and microphone cancel background noise, so you and the person on the other line hear each other clearly without distractions. Bend the microphone’s arm closer to or away from your mouth to improve the clarity of your voice. These headsets have a call controller on their cord with buttons to quickly answer and end calls, adjust the volume, and mute yourself.
Headsets with single sound output cover just one ear, so you can hear people in the room on your end. They’re useful for relaying messages and instructions.

RFID Reader/Writer Kits
Scan and sort RFID-tagged inventory, track RFID-tagged items around your facility, and control building access. Unlike bar code scanners, these readers/writers can scan multiple tags simultaneously without direct line of sight. Plug in the included power supply, and connect them directly to your host system, such as a PC or programmable logic controller (PLC). As tagged items pass by, these readers/writers quickly read and transmit data to your system or write new information to the tags.
Configure your reader/writer settings and access tag data through a web browser interface. Reader/writers have color LEDs built in to indicate each successful scan. Choose a reader/writer that is compatible with the frequency of your RFID tags, cards, and labels (not included). Reader/writers meet ISO and IEC standards for frequency ranges.
High-frequency reader/writers are good for short-range scanning. They’re often used to sort or track items on a conveyor belt and to scan ID cards for facility access. Ultra-high-frequency reader/writers are good for long-range scanning and when scanning ranges may vary. Capable of reading up to 64 individual RFID tags in one scan, they’re often used to track inventory in bulk, such as pallets of tagged items.
Sensing distance for your reader/writers is reduced when tags are smaller, misaligned, not optimized for their mounting material, or scanned in hot or cold environments. The sensing distances in the table below represent typical factory conditions for a 26 × 100 mm tag optimized for its mounting material.

RFID Reader Kits for Development Boards

Scan RFID cards when prototyping systems for item tracking and conveyor sorting. These readers scan one card at a time without requiring a direct line of sight, so they'll work in areas where bar code scanners can't. An LED and a buzzer indicate each successful scan. Readers connect to your development board with an included Qwiic cord that snaps into place, saving you the effort of soldering. If your board doesn’t have a Qwiic connection, choose a cord with a machine-pin plug. The two included RFID cards, as well as additional cards, have unique IDs and cannot be rewritten.
Sensing distance for your reader is reduced when cards are misaligned or scanned in hot or cold environments. The sensing distance in the table below represents typical factory conditions for the included card.
DMX Connectors

Replace damaged connectors on lighting cables that are commonly used for movie and stage lighting, as well as interior building lighting. They can also be used to make your cables longer. These connectors are compatible with equipment that have five-pin XLR connections. They lock together, so they won't accidentally unplug.
