Medium-Wall (IMC) and Thick-Wall (RMC) Metal Conduit and Fittings

The industry standards, IMC and RMC conduit systems offer the most durable protection indoors, outdoors, and underground. Both types have the same outside diameter, so they use many of the same fittings. This interchangeability makes retrofits easier and reduces the parts you need to keep on hand.

Reducing Washers

Shrink the size of knockouts in an electrical box so you can connect smaller sizes of conduit.

Galvanized Steel—These washers resist rust in wet environments and are used in pairs. Install one washer inside the box and one on the outside.

Galvanized Steel with Rubber-Coated Steel Gasket—These rust-resistant washers are paired with a gasket to block out moisture. The washer goes inside the box and the gasket on the outside to create the seal.
