    Drill-Point Countersinks for Screws

    Save time by drilling a pilot hole and countersinking in a single step. These countersinks have a small drill point to drill new pilot holes topped with cone-shaped recesses for screw heads.

    These versatile, wear-resistant countersinks cut cleanly in most materials, including plastic, aluminum, and steel.
    Titanium Nitride (TiN) Coated—Withstand heat, corrosion, and abrasion better than uncoated and black oxide countersinks, so they stay sharp over longer periods.
    Number of Flutes—Countersinks with fewer flutes are best for aggressive cutting. They leave more room for chips to clear, reducing friction and heat. Countersinks with more flutes spread the cut across more edges for better stability, a smoother finish, and longer tool life.

When the cutting edges dull, you can replace the insert rather than the entire tool.     Inserts have a positive rake, which means the cutting edge is angled to reduce vibration and prevent thin workpieces from bending. For longer life, each insert has three cutting edges—when one edge dulls, rotate to the next one. They have chip breakers to stop long chips from forming, so they won’t block the flow of coolant or damage your tool. Inserts sold individually come packed in a clear plastic case to protect cutting edges during shipment. Inserts sold in packs come factory sealed from the manufacturer for maximum traceability.
