Quick-Change Hex Drill-Bit Countersinks for Wood and Plastic

Switch bits instead of tools to simplify jobs. These snap directly into drills, power screwdrivers, and other tools that accept a 1/4" hex shank. You can slide the countersink up and down the drill bit and then secure it with a set screw, so one tool will drill countersunk holes for screws of different lengths. These countersinks cut a smooth and even finish in wood and plastic on the first pass.

    2 Flutes

These versatile, wear-resistant countersinks cut cleanly in most materials, including plastic, aluminum, and steel.
For Tapping Screws—Since there’s no need to fit a tap, an undersized drill tip makes a hole small enough for your screw to bite into and form threads.
Titanium Nitride (TiN) Coated—Withstand heat, corrosion, and abrasion better than uncoated and black oxide countersinks, so they stay sharp over longer periods.
Number of Flutes—Countersinks with fewer flutes are best for aggressive cutting. They leave more room for chips to clear, reducing friction and heat. Countersinks with more flutes spread the cut across more edges for better stability, a smoother finish, and longer tool life.

These counterbores are often used when screw holes in sheets or layers are misaligned. Also known as subland drill bits, they last longer than standard counterbore drill bits because the diameter stays the same after sharpening. They drill and counterbore at the same time. After drilling and counterboring, tap the hole and install your fastener. The diameters account for the 1/32” or 1/64” oversized diameter rating.

Often called step drill bits, these cut a pilot hole and counterbore in a single pass to eliminate tool changes and ensure precise alignment. Made of high-speed steel, they handle a wide range of materials, including aluminum, plastic, and stainless steel. They can be resharpened to extend tool life. Shown with Drill Bit

    (Sold Separately)

Cut holes in hard-to-reach spots—these countersinks are about twice as long as standard drill-bit countersinks. They attach anywhere along your drill bit, so one tool can drill and countersink holes of different depths. The length of the countersink adds enough rigidity to minimize the wobbling that can happen when using a long drill bit.

Create a smoother, more accurate finish than you can with solid-body countersink drill bits. Since these bits are hollow, they remove chips and make less contact as they cut to minimize friction and vibration. Also known as step drill bits, they countersink as they drill. Center holes perfectly before installing hinges, latches, and other hardware that require a countersunk screw. These bits have a built-in guide with a beveled tip that keeps the bit in position as it enters the material. So instead of measuring and marking, use your hardware as a template to drill the pilot holes. Once screws are installed, they're straight and the heads are flush. Also known as Vix bits, they're made of wear- and heat-resistant high-speed steel.
