    High-Axial-Misalignment Sleeve Couplings

Image of System. Front orientation. Contains Annotated. Flexible Shaft Couplings. High-Axial-Misalignment Sleeve Couplings.
Flex to handle axial misalignment with the gear-shaped sleeve while transmitting high torque at high speeds. The flexible sleeve between the hubs reduces vibration, absorbs shock, and prevents metal-to-metal contact, so there's no need for lubrication. For a complete coupling, select two hubs and one sleeve. Choose components with the same trade size to ensure they'll fit together.

The metal body mounts onto shafts to transmit torque from one shaft to the other through the flexible center.
Cast Iron—Strong and rigid to withstand heavy loads. Keep these hubs dry to prevent rust.

    Shock-Absorbing Grid Couplings

Image of System. Front orientation. Contains Annotated. Flexible Shaft Couplings. Shock-Absorbing Grid Couplings.
A strip of flexible spring steel (known as a grid) absorbs sudden load increases from motor startups, emergency braking, and other shock loads. They're commonly found in wire drawing and cutting machines, pulverizers, and mixers. For a complete coupling, select two hubs and a grid kit. Choose components of the same trade size to ensure they'll fit together.
    Hubs

The metal body mounts onto shafts to transmit torque from one shaft to the other through the flexible center.
Black-Oxide Steel—Typically chosen for their appearance, these hubs have a dark, matte coating that creates a finished look. They offer minimal corrosion resistance, so they're best for dry environments.

    Grid Kits
Image of Product. Front orientation. Flexible Shaft Couplings. Shock-Absorbing Grid Couplings, Grid Kits.
The grid wraps around the teeth of both hubs to spread the force of starts, stops, and reversals. When the shock load hits, the grid flexes to spread out the load. After the load passes, the grid straightens back out.
Spring Steel—Use these hard, rigid grids for high-stress applications. They're best for dry environments, since moisture will cause them to rust.

    Two-Piece Shaft Collars

Image of Product. Front orientation. Shaft Collars. Two Piece, For Round Shafts.

    For Round Shafts

Attach these collars anywhere along your shaft, which helps when other components are already installed or you can't access the end. They clamp firmly and evenly without marring the shaft, so you can reposition or remove collars later.
Black-Oxide Carbon Steel—Dark and matted for a finished look, but with minimal corrosion resistance. Best for dry environments.
Zinc-Plated Carbon Steel—A step up from plain carbon steel collars, these withstand occasional exposure to moisture.
Chrome-Plated Carbon Steel—Resist moisture and mild cleaning solutions better than zinc-plated collars.
303 Stainless Steel—Withstand moisture and mild cleaning solutions, such as acetone and ammonia. These are easier to machine than other stainless steel collars.
316 Stainless Steel—More corrosion resistant than 303 stainless steel collars. These collars withstand salt water and harsh chemicals, such as bleach, chlorine, and phosphoric acid.
Aluminum—One-third the weight of steel and corrosion resistant.

    Set Screw Two-Piece Shaft Collars

Image of Product. Front orientation. Shaft Collars. Set Screw Two-Piece Shaft Collars.
Attach these traditional collars anywhere along a shaft when other components are already installed or you can't access the ends. Their set screw digs into the shaft for a tight, permanent hold, but one that leaves a gouge. For maximum holding power, make sure the set screw is harder than the shaft.
Black-Oxide Carbon Steel—Dark and matted for a finished look, but with minimal corrosion resistance. Best for dry environments.
