Our basic drill bits are also the most versatile. Cut holes in a variety of metals, from the softest aluminum to the hardest steel.
Jobbers' Length—These bits have the balance of rigidity and length needed for most applications.
Black Oxide—The dark finish increases wear resistance and reduces friction to improve chip flow, so these bits can last 50% longer than uncoated bits.
Titanium Nitride (TiN) Coated—Drill at higher speeds and last longer than uncoated and oxide-coated bits, especially on tough materials like hardened steel and nickel.
Uncoated—The most economical option, uncoated bits perform best when used on low-carbon steel and aluminum. Polished to reduce friction, they're also known as bright finish bits.

Tough and wear resistant, cobalt steel bits last at least twice as long as high-speed steel. They can also run up to 25% faster at higher temperatures without being damaged on hard materials, such as nickel.
Jobbers' Length—These bits have the balance of rigidity and length needed for most applications.
Titanium Nitride (TiN) Coated—Drill at higher speeds and last longer than uncoated and oxide-coated bits, especially on tough materials like hardened steel and nickel.
Titanium Aluminum Nitride (TiAlN) Coated—The hardest and most wear-resistant coating, especially at high temperatures. These bits are best for hard and abrasive materials, such as iron, titanium, and fiberglass.
Uncoated—Polished to eject chips, these are also known as bright finish bits.

Also known as step drill bits, these bits countersink as they drill. The 82° countersink angle is compatible with the profile of flat- and oval-head inch screws. After multiple sharpenings, the drill bit diameter may become smaller.

    Counterbore Drill Bits

Often called step drill bits, these cut a pilot hole and counterbore in a single pass to eliminate tool changes and ensure precise alignment. Made of high-speed steel, they handle a wide range of materials, including aluminum, plastic, and stainless steel. They can be resharpened to extend tool life. The body diameter may decrease after multiple sharpenings.

    High-Speed Steel Square End Mills

Image of Product. Front orientation. End Mills. High-Speed Steel Square End Mills, 2 Flutes.

    2 Flutes

Use these end mills for general purpose milling in most material, such as aluminum, brass, bronze, iron, and steel. They have a square end for milling square slots, pockets, and edges.
End mills with fewer flutes provide better chip clearance for high-volume, high-speed plunge, slotting, and roughing cuts; end mills with more flutes provide a finer finish and operate with less vibration when run at high speeds.
Uncoated High-Speed Steel—Use uncoated end mills for general purpose milling and short production runs.
Titanium Nitride (TiN)-Coated High-Speed Steel—Use titanium nitride (TiN)-coated end mills for demanding, high-speed jobs in hard material as well as for longer production runs. They’re more wear resistant than uncoated end mills, which means they last longer when run at similar speeds.
Center Cutting—Center-cutting end mills allow plunge cuts into a surface.

Impact Wrench Reamers for Hole Alignment

Driven by the high torque of an impact wrench, these reamers enlarge holes to correct misalignment and overlap faster than with a power drill. The tapered shape fits into narrow holes and makes more contact than straight reamers when removing material. Also known as bridge and car reamers.
    Hex Shank
Image of Product. Front orientation. Contains Annotated. Reamers. Impact Wrench Reamers for Hole Alignment, Hex Shank, Spiral Flute.

    Spiral Flute

The shank fits hex impact sockets, so you can use an impact wrench to both ream the hole and install a fastener.
Spiral Flute—Since these reamers clear chips better than straight flutes, they leave holes with a smoother finish. They're better for holes with breaks in the surface, such as a keyway, because they cut continuously across the breaks instead of moving in and out.
High-Speed Steel—Durable and wear resistant, these are good for general purpose reaming in most materials.
Left-Hand Spiral—These reamers push chips downward as they cut, so they're often used in through holes.
Strong Hold—Magnets on the shank’s end keep these reamers from accidentally falling out of your tool.

    Reamers

Finish holes to precise inch, metric, wire gauge, or letter sizes with these reamers.
    Adjustable Size, Square Shank
Finish multiple hole sizes with one reamer by moving the adjustable blades within the diameter range. Convenient for maintenance work, these have a large diameter range and don't require powered tools. They're often used to make precise size adjustments during installation of bearings and bushings.
Move the blades by tightening and loosening the two nuts on the reamer. To measure size, adjust blades to a known size (such as a bushing or ring), or measure across two opposite blades with a micrometer. When the blades become worn, they can be reground or replaced.
Turn these reamers by hand with an adjustable wrench or straight-handle tap wrench (sold separately).
Extension pilots (not included) can be used in place of the end adjustment nut to align holes that are spaced far apart.
Straight Blade—Use these reamers in straight holes that don't have a keyway or other breaks in the surface.
Angled Blade—These reamers are better than those with straight blades for finishing holes with breaks in the surface, such as a keyway.
High-Speed Steel—Durable and wear resistant, these are good for general purpose reaming in most materials.
Tool Steel—Typically more economical but less durable than high-speed steel, these are for general purpose reaming.
