Tough and wear resistant, cobalt steel bits last at least twice as long as high-speed steel. They can also run up to 25% faster at higher temperatures without being damaged on hard materials, such as nickel.
Short Length—The most rigid bits for drilling the straightest holes.
Titanium Nitride (TiN) Coated—Drill at higher speeds and last longer than uncoated and oxide-coated bits, especially on tough materials like hardened steel and nickel.

The hardest and most wear-resistant bits, the flutes clear chips and improve coolant flow. They prevent clogs and dissipate heat that can damage the bit and the hole. Carbide bits stay sharp at high temperatures and faster speeds for the best performance on hard and difficult-to-machine materials. They last 10 to 20 times longer than cobalt steel. Carbide can be brittle, however, so these bits require a rigid machine tool holder to prevent breakage and should not be used in hand drilling applications.
Jobbers' Length—These bits have the balance of rigidity and length needed for most applications.
Titanium Nitride (TiN) Coated—Drill at higher speeds and last longer than uncoated bits, especially on materials like hardened steel, iron, and stainless steel.
Uncoated—Excellent for a range of materials but won't last as long as coated bits.

    High-Speed Steel T-Slot End Mills

Image of ProductInUse. Front orientation. End Mills. High-Speed Steel T-Slot End Mills.
Image of Product. Front orientation. Contains Annotated. High-Speed Steel T-Slot End Mills.
Use these versatile end mills for milling in most material, including aluminum, brass, bronze, iron, and steel. They're often used to create slots in machine tool tables, indexing tables, and other workholding surfaces.
Uncoated High-Speed Steel—Use uncoated end mills for general purpose milling and short production runs. They stay sharper than coated end mills when used on soft materials like aluminum, leaving a better finish.
Titanium Nitride (TiN)-Coated High-Speed Steel—Titanium nitride (TiN)-coated end mills create less friction than uncoated end mills, which means they last longer when run at similar speeds. Use coated end mills for demanding, high-speed jobs in hard material as well as for longer production runs. The coating reduces friction and vibration as they’re used, making them more wear resistant than uncoated end mills.
Titanium Carbon Nitride (TiCN)-Coated High-Speed Steel—Titanium carbon nitride (TiCN)-coated end mills have a hard, smooth finish that resists chipping and wear and prevents material from accumulating on the cutting edge. They’re especially good for use in aluminum. Use coated end mills for demanding, high-speed jobs in hard material as well as for longer production runs. The coating reduces friction and vibration as they’re used, making them more wear resistant than uncoated end mills.
Aluminum Titanium Nitride (ALTiN)-Coated High-Speed Steel—Aluminum titanium nitride (AlTiN)-coated end mills dissipate heat better than other end mills, especially at high speeds. At high temperatures, the coating creates a layer of aluminum oxide that transfers heat to the chips, keeping the tool cool, even when used without lubrication. Use coated end mills for demanding, high-speed jobs in hard material as well as for longer production runs. The coating reduces friction and vibration as they’re used, making them more wear resistant than uncoated end mills.

Create your own tool by attaching these shafts to a handle, or use with socket wrenches and power tools. They have a ball end that allows angled entry to make good contact with the recess when a standard-tip shaft can’t.
Driver Extension Adapters—Create a tool that’s as long as you need. Attach a driver shaft to a screwdriver, T-handle key, or L-key to extend your reach, or chain multiple shafts together to reach deeply recessed fasteners.

    2 Flutes

With better heat and wear resistance than high-speed steel, these cobalt steel end mills can run at higher speeds and provide better performance on hard material, such as iron, hardened steel, titanium, and tool steel. They have a square end for milling square slots, pockets, and edges.
End mills with fewer flutes provide better chip clearance for high-volume, high-speed plunge, slotting, and roughing cuts; end mills with more flutes provide a finer finish and operate with less vibration when run at high speeds.
Uncoated Cobalt Steel—Use uncoated end mills for general purpose milling and short production runs.
Center Cutting—Center-cutting end mills allow plunge cuts into a surface.

Made of carbide-tipped high-speed steel, these end mills provide a sharper, harder edge at high temperatures than plain high-speed steel. Because they aren’t as brittle as solid carbide, they can be used in less rigid setups, such as manual milling machines. The teeth are angled in two directions so you can make top and bottom chamfers without having to flip the workpiece.
Uncoated—Use uncoated end mills for general purpose milling and short production runs. They stay sharper than coated end mills when used on soft materials like aluminum, leaving a better finish.
