    Standard

Performance similar to solid carbide but at a lower price point. Like carbide bits, these are stronger than cobalt and high-speed steel and maintain their sharp edges when drilling abrasive material. However, when drilling tough metals like iron and hardened steel, upgrade to carbide for longer life.
Short Length—The most rigid bits for drilling the straightest holes.

    Reamers for Taper-Pin Holes

Shape holes to match the profile of taper pins. After drilling a hole that matches the size of the small end of the taper pin you want to install, use these reamers to taper and finish the hole.

    Straight Flute

Turn these reamers by hand with an adjustable wrench, straight-handle tap wrench, or pin vise (sold separately).
Straight Flute—The most common flute style, these reamers are suitable for a wide range of applications, but not recommended for holes with a keyway or other breaks in the surface.
High-Speed Steel—Durable and wear resistant, these are good for general purpose reaming in most materials.

    High-Speed Steel Square End Mills

Image of Product. Front orientation. End Mills. High-Speed Steel Square End Mills, 4 Flutes.

    4 Flutes

Use these end mills for general purpose milling in most material, such as aluminum, brass, bronze, iron, and steel. They have a square end for milling square slots, pockets, and edges.
End mills with fewer flutes provide better chip clearance for high-volume, high-speed plunge, slotting, and roughing cuts; end mills with more flutes provide a finer finish and operate with less vibration when run at high speeds.
Uncoated High-Speed Steel—Use uncoated end mills for general purpose milling and short production runs.
Center Cutting—Center-cutting end mills allow plunge cuts into a surface.
