Our basic drill bits are also the most versatile. Cut holes in a variety of metals, from the softest aluminum to the hardest steel.
Jobbers' Length—These bits have the balance of rigidity and length needed for most applications.
Black Oxide—The dark finish increases wear resistance and reduces friction to improve chip flow, so these bits can last 50% longer than uncoated bits.

Tapping Screw Installation Drill Bits for Masonry and Concrete

Create an undersized hole so concrete tapping screws fit tightly once they're threaded into place. These bits are slightly smaller than the matching screw size. They have a carbide tip that resists wear and heat to stay sharp.

Tough and wear resistant, cobalt steel bits last at least twice as long as high-speed steel. They can also run up to 25% faster at higher temperatures without being damaged on hard materials, such as nickel.
Jobbers' Length—These bits have the balance of rigidity and length needed for most applications.
Uncoated—Polished to eject chips, these are also known as bright finish bits.

    Shown with Carbide Inserts

    (Sold Separately)

When you need to drill dozens or even hundreds of holes, use a bit with replaceable carbide inserts. Once the cutting edges wear down, just change the inserts instead of sharpening or throwing the bit away. The holes in the bit channel coolant through the tool for more efficient chip evacuation. Also known as indexable drill bits.
Each drill bit requires two inserts—one on the inner cutting edge and one on the outer cutting edge. Replacement inserts are sold separately.

Use these end mills for general purpose milling in most material, such as aluminum, brass, bronze, iron, and steel. They have a ball end for milling rounded slots, slopes, and contours. All are center cutting, allowing plunge cuts into a surface.
Uncoated High-Speed Steel—Use uncoated end mills for general purpose milling and short production runs.
4 Flutes—End mills with four flutes provide a finer finish and operate with less vibration when run at high speeds.

High-Speed Steel Square End Mills for Aluminum, Brass, and Bronze

Image of Product. Front orientation. End Mills. High-Speed Steel Square End Mills for Aluminum, Brass, and Bronze, 2 Flutes.

    2 Flutes

With a higher helix angle than standard high-speed steel end mills, these clear more chips and generate less heat, making them good for milling soft material, such as aluminum, brass and bronze. They are center cutting for making plunge cuts into surfaces and have a square-end cut style for milling square slots, pockets, and edges.
Uncoated High-Speed Steel—Use uncoated end mills for general purpose milling and short production runs.
2 Flutes—End mills with two flutes provide better chip clearance for high-volume, high-speed plunge, slotting, and roughing cuts.

    Cobalt Steel Square End Mills

Image of Product. Front orientation. End Mills. Cobalt Steel Square End Mills, 4 Flutes.

    4 Flutes

With better heat and wear resistance than high-speed steel, these cobalt steel end mills can run at higher speeds and provide better performance on hard material, such as iron, hardened steel, titanium, and tool steel. They have a square end for milling square slots, pockets, and edges.
End mills with fewer flutes provide better chip clearance for high-volume, high-speed plunge, slotting, and roughing cuts; end mills with more flutes provide a finer finish and operate with less vibration when run at high speeds.
Uncoated Cobalt Steel—Use uncoated end mills for general purpose milling and short production runs.
Titanium Carbon Nitride (TiCN)-Coated Cobalt Steel—Use titanium carbon nitride (TiCN)-coated end mills for demanding, high-speed jobs in hard material as well as for longer production runs. They have a hard, smooth finish that resists chipping and wear and prevents material from accumulating on the cutting edge. They’re especially good for use in aluminum.
Center Cutting—Center-cutting end mills allow plunge cuts into a surface.

    6 Flutes

Use these end mills for general purpose milling in most material, such as aluminum, brass, bronze, iron, and steel. They have a square end for milling square slots, pockets, and edges.
End mills with fewer flutes provide better chip clearance for high-volume, high-speed plunge, slotting, and roughing cuts; end mills with more flutes provide a finer finish and operate with less vibration when run at high speeds.
Uncoated High-Speed Steel—Use uncoated end mills for general purpose milling and short production runs.
Titanium Nitride (TiN)-Coated High-Speed Steel—Use titanium nitride (TiN)-coated end mills for demanding, high-speed jobs in hard material as well as for longer production runs. They’re more wear resistant than uncoated end mills, which means they last longer when run at similar speeds.
Center Cutting—Center-cutting end mills allow plunge cuts into a surface.
Noncenter Cutting—Noncenter-cutting end mills are for operations where the peripheral teeth do most of the work, such as shoulder milling, contouring, and finishing. They cannot be used for plunge cuts.
