    Direct-Drive Fan Motors

Image of Product. Front orientation. Fan Motors. Direct-Drive Fan Motors.
Since they have fewer moving parts, you can use these direct-drive motors to build fans that require less maintenance than fans with belt-drive motors. Mount them directly to a fan column.

    Panel-Mount Controller

Set and maintain the speed of these motors with the included speed control, which automatically adjusts the power based on feedback from a built-in sensor. These motors combine the speed control characteristics of permanent-magnet brushless DC motors with the convenience of AC power—an integrated inverter means they operate on 120 volts AC. They bolt directly to gearboxes, pumps, and other machinery.
These motors have manual overload protection, which turns them off if they overheat. An LED on the control face indicates when the overload protection is triggered—flip the reset switch to start motors once they cool. The panel-mount controller also lets you turn motors on or off, change the speed, and switch between clockwise or counterclockwise rotation. To create a control station, mount it up to 10 feet from the motor with the included cable.
Rated for continuous duty, these motors can run machines that require constant power, such as fans and conveyors.
Totally Enclosed Nonventilated (TENV) Motor Enclosure—These motors have totally enclosed nonventilated (TENV) enclosures, which don’t have vents, so you can install them in damp and dirty environments. They don’t have a fan, so motors get warmer and run less efficiently than they would in open or fan-cooled enclosures.

Build your own fan or replace a fan motor. Mount one of these motors directly to a fan column. Four 8-32 threaded mounting studs extend 1" for mounting a fan guard.
Note: When selecting a fan blade, be sure the rpm and hp are compatible and the shaft diameter of the blade matches the shaft diameter of the motor.

    Electric Actuators

Move loads with consistent, repeatable push-pull motion. These actuators hold their loads in position even if power fails.
To protect the motor from overload when the extension rod is at the end of the stroke, all actuators have either a limit switch or clutch.
All actuators have a clevis hole on each end for mounting.
Adjustable Limit Switch—Move adjustable limit switches to change the length of the stroke.
With Load-Limiting Clutch—Actuators with a load-limiting clutch also protect the motor from jams and impact or shock loads. If the load exceeds the maximum capacity or if the extension rod reaches the end of its stroke, the clutch slips and stops the rod from moving. You can set the clutch to slip at a specific load capacity.
Automatic—Actuators with automatic overload protection prevent damage to the motor from overheating. They have a switch that shuts off the motor if it’s too warm or if it exceeds the maximum duty cycle. The switch automatically resets once the motor is cool enough to operate.
Rotating—Secure both ends of actuators with rotating extension rods to fixed surfaces, so the rod extends and retracts instead of rotates. Twist the extension rod until the clevis holes line up with your mounting bracket.
Brake—Some actuators have a brake that prevents loads from shifting even slightly, so they’re best for vertical and high-vibration applications.
Maximum Speed—Maximum speed is how fast the actuator will move under no-load conditions. If you increase the load, the actuator speed will decrease. Use a speed-load chart to confirm which actuator will work for your application. Click on a part number and select “Product Detail” to view the chart for an actuator.

These speed-control motors combine a variable-frequency drive and motor into one, saving space in your control panel and reducing the amount of wiring required. Bolt them directly to gearboxes, pumps, and other machinery, or use the welded base to mount them to a surface. You can program the drive to start, stop, change speed, and reverse direction based on inputs from a PLC or sensor. These motors are often used to start or stop a conveyor based on PLC commands or vary the speed of a fan to maintain a room’s temperature.
The shaft is keyed and comes with key stock. These motors are rated for continuous duty, so they'll run equipment that never turns off. All have automatic overload protection, which turns motors off if they become overheated and restarts them once they’ve cooled.
An IE5 efficiency rating means these motors and drives are rated for the highest efficiency available. From partial to full output, they'll use less electricity than motors with other ratings.
Program these motors in a number of ways. You can download the free manufacturer software to your computer and connect to the motor via Bluetooth, or you can use a PC Connection Cord to connect your motor directly to your computer's USB port. The software allows you to control or monitor the motor in real time. To integrate them into larger control systems, these motors can be programmed using Modbus-RTU and BACnet protocols.
Totally Enclosed Fan-Cooled (TEFC) Motor Enclosure—A TEFC (totally enclosed fan-cooled) motor enclosure protects these motors better than ODP (open dripproof) enclosures in damp and dusty environments. The external fan keeps the motor cool.

Save space in your control panel with a variable-frequency drive and motor in one unit. These motors require less wiring than motors that need to be attached to a separate drive. They have a base mount that’s welded to the enclosure, so you can secure them to a flat surface. Program the drive to start, stop, change speed, and reverse direction based on inputs from a PLC or sensor. These motors are often used to start or stop a conveyor based on PLC commands or vary the speed of a fan to maintain a room’s temperature.
