Cut, scrape, grind, and sand in tight spaces where you don’t have access to an outlet. These tools have a fast-moving oscillating blade that makes flush and plunge cuts without damaging surrounding material. The speed control lets you slow down the blade for hard materials like metal, or speed it up for soft materials like wood. Choose tools with lower oscillating angles for precise, detailed work; higher oscillating angles are good for faster cutting and grinding.
Some tools include rechargeable batteries. For other tools, batteries and chargers are sold separately.
DeWalt—DeWalt tools have a variable-speed trigger for precise control. The more you squeeze the trigger, the faster the blade moves, up to the speed set on the control switch.
Fein—Fein tools maintain a consistent cutting speed, even when they detect resistance from hard materials. If a blade gets stuck while cutting, these tools automatically shut off to prevent damage and injury. Fein tools are compatible with Bosch batteries.
Makita—Makita tools start at a slower speed for better control and to prevent the blade from jumping. As you begin your cut, the speed automatically ramps up. When they detect resistance from hard materials, they automatically adjust power to maintain a consistent cutting speed.
Milwaukee—Milwaukee tools start at a slower speed for better control and to prevent the blade from jumping. Once you begin your cut, the speed automatically ramps up.
Open Blade Mount—Tools with an open blade mount are compatible with all non-Starlock blades.
StarlockMax Blade Mount and StarlockPlus Blade Mount—Tools with a StarlockMax or StarlockPlus blade mount can be used with all Starlock-compatible blades.

Cut, scrape, grind, and sand in tight spaces. These tools have a blade that moves in a back-and-forth motion at high speeds to make flush and plunge cuts without damaging the surrounding material. Perfect for small jobs like cutting off the end of a protruding nail or creating notches in sheet metal. Switch out your blade in seconds—no special tools needed. To suit the material you're cutting, you can adjust the speed; use slower speeds for hard materials like metal and faster speeds for soft materials like wood. Tools with higher current cut through thicker and harder materials. Choose tools with lower oscillating angles for precise, detailed work; higher oscillating angles are good for faster cutting and grinding.
Bosch—Bosch tools detect resistance while cutting to maintain consistent speed, especially with thick, dense material. This prevents the blade from bogging down so it lasts longer. Turn the variable-speed dial to ramp speed up or down. These tools also have a release lever to let you eject hot blades without touching them. They can be used with any Starlock-compatible blades.
DeWalt—DeWalt tools have a variable-speed trigger—as you squeeze the trigger, the blade moves faster. They are compatible with any non-Starlock blade.

    Oscillating Any-Angle Stationary Belt Sanders

For even wear across the sanding belt, these sanders move the belt up and down as it rotates. This dual motion reduces clogs, prevents overheating, and makes the belt last longer. The backing plate behind the belt has a graphite coating to reduce heat further. Position these sanders at the angle you need to best access your workpiece. Set the belt flat to sand long, flat surfaces or at a 90° angle to sand edges. It can also be tilted to any angle in between for beveling. To finish contoured surfaces, press your material against the outer drum.
These sanders have adjustable belt tracking, which lets you maintain proper belt tension. For quick belt changes, there’s a belt-release lever. If you want to connect them to a dust collector or vacuum system, they have a dust extraction port. Use with sanding belts (sold separately).

    Spindle Sanders

Sand curved, contoured, and complex surfaces, such as table legs or inside holes. The spindle on these sanders oscillates while it rotates so you can use the full abrasive surface of the sanding sleeve. This motion reduces the risk of burning your workpiece and helps the sleeve last longer. The table tilts down 45° to create beveled edges. Connect these sanders to a dust collector or vacuum system to clear away debris from your workspace and prevent your sander from clogging. These sanders are small enough to fit on your workbench.
They include different sizes of spindles and table inserts for a variety of jobs. The spindles are threaded on one end, so they're easy to change out. The table inserts install around the spindle to prevent dust and debris from falling into the motor. A built-in storage rack keeps the spindles and table inserts handy.
