Surge suppression outlet strips protect against damage from voltage spikes. Surge rating indicates how much energy the outlet strip can absorb before it needs to be replaced; the higher the number, the better the protection.

Outlet Strips with Master Outlet
Save energy by automatically turning off unused outlets—the master outlet controls the follower outlets and shuts off power to those outlets when a device plugged into the master is turned off. For example, plug a main device, such as a computer, into the master outlet; plug accessory devices, such as a monitor and printer, into the follower outlets. Turn the main device on and off to control power to the accessory devices. They also have independent outlets that are always on. Sliding outlet covers protect outlets from dust when not in use. Surge suppression protects devices from voltage spikes. The surge rating indicates how much energy the outlet strip can absorb before it needs to be replaced. Continuous-Flex Coaxial Cords
