About Sound Levels
Measured in decibels (dB), volume ratings indicate how much noise equipment makes. Some common volume levels include a whisper @ 20 dB, a refrigerator @ 40 dB, a conversation @ 60 dB, and a light machine shop @ 90 dB. OSHA recommends hearing protection for exposure to 80 dB and greater.

Fans with an open dripproof motor enclosure are for relatively clean, dry, indoor locations. Use a collar (sold separately) to connect these fans to a louver.
Fans with louvers create a weather-tight seal when they're turned off. The louvers open automatically on startup and spring closed when not in use.
Weather hoods (sold separately) help extend the life of your exhaust fan by protecting it from harsh weather, such as severe wind, and debris.

Exterior-Wall-Mount Exhaust Fans

Good when you don't have room to mount an exhaust fan inside your facility, these fans attach to openings in outside walls. Use them to draw stagnant and humid air out of a room or area.
Direct-drive fans have fewer moving parts than belt-drive fans, so they’re easier to maintain. Fans with a totally enclosed motor enclosure can be used in dirty, dusty, and damp environments. They mount through the wall, so you'll need to cut a hole on the inside of the wall as well.
Note: Airflow depends on the resistance created by louvers, filters, and ductwork in your system. This resistance, known as static pressure (SP), is measured in inches of water.

Belt-Drive Downdraft Roof-Mount Exhaust Fans

Belt-drive fans are quieter and have a longer life span than direct-drive fans because components can be replaced if worn or damaged. More economical than upblast roof-mount exhaust fans, these draw stagnant and humid air out through your roof and then direct it back toward the roof.
Note: Airflow depends on the resistance created by ductwork. This resistance, known as static pressure (SP), is measured in inches of water.

Fan Blades

Replace worn and damaged fan blades. Use the included set screw or shaft collar to fasten a blade to your fan's shaft. Fan blades with a keyway are for use on motors with a keyed shaft. For difficult-to-remove hubs and fan blades, use fan blade pullers (not included).
Styles A-C blades are for use in low-airflow applications.
Style D blades are sturdier than Styles A-C blades and produce higher airflow.
Style E blades are cupped to create a focused stream of high airflow.

High-Output Fan Blades

Generate at least 25% greater airflow than standard fan blades. Use these blades to replace worn and damaged fan blades. The fan blades with a keyway are for use on motors with a keyed shaft. For difficult-to-remove hubs and fan blades, use fan blade pullers (not included).
Style B 12"-24" dia. blades use the included set screw to fasten a blade to your fan's shaft. The 30" and 36" dia. blades require an SH style quick-disconnect bushing (not included).
