    Choose files by texture—coarse for quick and heavy removal of material, extra fine for precision and a smooth finish.

    Precision File Sets

    Made to exacting measurements, the files in these sets give you precise control over how much material you remove. Also known as Swiss-pattern files, they create more consistent finishes than American-pattern files. Use them for smoothing intricate parts and other applications where accuracy is key. All files are double cut, which means their surface has two sets of diagonal teeth. They remove material more quickly than single cut files, but you’ll need to use heavier pressure.

    Needle File Sets for Stainless Steel

    Keep different shapes of needle files on hand to remove material from stainless steel. The files in these sets almost never clog. Their small tip is ideal for work in slots, grooves, and other tight spots on intricate parts. With a Swiss cut pattern, they’ll leave a consistent finish—they’re made to more exact measurements than files with an American cut pattern. Since they’re double cut with two sets of diagonal teeth, you can put more pressure on them than single-cut files for quicker filing. All files resist corrosion.

    Keep stones in different grits on hand to smooth ribs, slots, teeth, and other fine features. The stones in these assortments are thin enough to slip into hard-to-reach areas. Made of bonded ceramic, they’re harder and more wear resistant than aluminum oxide stones, but flexible enough not to crack under pressure.
