Measure your pipe and fittings to identify their pipe size, thread size, schedule, and thread type. Then, find compatible components.

Flame-Retardant PVDF Pipe Flanges for Harsh Chemicals

Flanges meet UL 94 V-0 for flame retardance to delay the spread of flames to valuable equipment. They are made of PVDF, which is comparable to Kynar and has the chemical resistance to stand up to solvents and other harsh substances. Also known as Pressure Class 150 flanges, they have thick, strong walls for heavy duty chemical-processing applications. Bolt two same-size flanges together with a gasket (not included) to create an access point within a line.
Warning: Never use plastic pipe fittings, flanges, and pipe with compressed air or gas.

    Applicator-Top Can

To prevent leaks in threaded connections, apply a sealant to the male threads. Threaded connections can be taken apart as needed for maintenance and repair. For metal threads, use PTFE tape. For plastic threads, apply a non-hardening, plastic-compatible sealant. Tape or sealants with PTFE are not recommended for plastic-to-plastic connections. When making a threaded connection be careful not to overtighten the threads. To prevent cracks and leaks, finger tighten the fitting, then wrench-tighten one to two turns. Sealants cannot be sold to Colorado, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, Michigan, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Northern Virginia, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, or Utah due to local VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) regulations.

    Fiberglass Pipe Flanges for Chemicals

Reinforced with layers of fiberglass, these flanges are stronger and more durable than our other pipe flanges for chemicals. They handle a wide range of acids and other corrosive chemicals used in applications such as metal surface treating and plating solution lines. Bolt two same-size flanges together with a gasket (not included) to create an access point within a line. Flanges meet ASTM D4024 for product dimensions, performance, and material quality.
To install, sand the inside of flanges and end of pipe to remove the surface finish. Mix adhesive (sold separately) until the color is uniform and there are no streaks. Place a thin layer of mixed adhesive approximately 1/8" thick on the sanded area of the pipe and 1/16" thick on the inside of the flange. Push the flange onto the pipe until it is fully engaged. Make sure to align the bolt holes prior to installing to minimize rotation after the flange is installed. Wrap the adhesive-curing heat cable (sold separately) around the pipe and flange at the joint. Do not overlap the tape. Once you have waited the full cure time, the pipe and fitting will be ready to use.

Made of PVDF that’s finished to a 12 Ra smoothness, these pipe stub ends handle some of the harshest chemicals without leaching contaminants into your line. They won’t accumulate particles and are easy to clean, thanks to their smoothness. Comparable to Kynar, these stub ends handle most organic solvents that would dissolve CPVC, and chlorine or nitric acid that would weaken polypropylene. You can use them at higher temperatures than CPVC and polypropylene. These stub ends meet UL 94 V-0 and FM standards for flame retardance. They’re also FDA compliant for direct contact with food, and they meet ASTM requirements for dimensions and tolerances.
Connect them to pipe with socket fusion welding for a strong, permanent bond. Use a socket fusion welder with a heater bushing (sold separately) that matches your pipe size.
Pipe stub ends connect flanges to pipe. Slide the straight end into a flange and fuse the stub end to the pipe. Since the flange isn’t fused to the pipe, it can be disconnected easily for cleaning and inspecting.
