Style A—Style A have a second LED on the body that aims a flood beam downward to light up your footsteps. This LED can double as a task light—just stand these flashlights on their end or hang them up. They’ll also stick to metal surfaces with a magnet on the bottom and on the clip.

Style E—Style E can also work as a laser pointer. You can use the laser and spot beam separately or at the same time.

A strong magnet connects the light to the attachments, so swap between them in a snap. When you need close-up illumination, detach the light and hold it as a task light.

Rated IP54, these headlamps are sealed against dust and splashing liquids. They’re tested against ANSI/PLATO FL 1 standards to confirm the accuracy of performance attributes such as brightness, battery life, and beam distance. Style A—Style A have lights all around the head band for 360° visibility. You can turn the front and band light on separately or simultaneously. Battery life is measured when all lights are on. They include a rubber strap you can wrap around a hard hat—no hard hat clips required. These headlamps are rated for temporary submersion in water.

They have a memory function that defaults to your preferred light combination when you first turn them on.

Spot/Flood Beam—Headlamps with a spot beam have a bright center for lighting up long distances. Headlamps with a flood beam cast a uniform spread of light that’s good for close-up tasks and inspection work.

Style C—Style C are a lower cost alternative that has a red light in back so people can see you when it is dark. However, they don’t have lights all around the head band. The front light has a dial to dim the light anywhere from high to low for precise lighting control. They are a good choice for wearing on your head rather than on a hard hat. Bring light to explosion-prone work areas. Rated NEC Class I, these lights are safe to use in areas with ignitable concentrations of flammable or combustible gases, vapors, and liquids. The housing of these lights contains fire and sparks, so they don’t ignite what’s in your environment. They’re often used in mines and underground drilling. All also meet NEMA 4X, meaning they withstand spraying liquid, resist corrosion, and keep out dust. Use the hook to hang them where you need them. These lights come with a standard three-prong plug, so electrical connections must be made outside of the hazardous environment. Alternatively, you can add a hazardous location plug.

Style A—Style A weigh less than 2 pounds, so you can hold them without your hand and arm tiring. Rated IP66, they’re dust tight and sealed against washdowns. A protective lens keeps the LEDs from getting damaged while diffusing light evenly. Their compact design fits in narrow and low-clearance spaces. Add a mounting clamp to clip to a pipe or other surface. The clamp swivels so you can aim the light where you need it.

Style B—Style B are rated NEC Class II for use in areas with combustible dust. The guard and hook are made of copper-free aluminum, which minimizes the chance of creating sparks if you drop or bump them. To stand up to frequent use, a tempered borosilicate glass lens protects the bulb and the handle is made of impact-resistant glass.
