    Easy-Read Tank-Mount Pressure-Regulating Valves with Flowmeter for Inert Gas

    Flowmeters let you see the gas flow rate from a distance. These valves automatically reduce a high inlet pressure from compressed gas tanks to a lower, stable outlet pressure. All have Compressed Gas Association (CGA) numbered inlet fittings for secure connections to compressed gas tanks. Choose a valve with the same CGA number as your tank and other system components. They have a gauge for monitoring inlet pressure from the tank.

    Tank-Mount Pressure-Regulating Valves with Flowmeter for Inert Gas

    Commonly used in TIG welding where gas flow/coverage is a concern, these valves measure the gas flow rate in addition to regulating pressure. They automatically reduce a high inlet pressure from compressed gas tanks to a lower, stable outlet pressure. All have Compressed Gas Association (CGA) numbered inlet fittings for secure connections to compressed gas tanks. Choose a valve with the same CGA number as your tank and other system components.     Panel-Mount Flowmeters for Gases

    Monitor the flow rate of air and other gases from your instrument panel—these flowmeters have fittings on the back for panel mounting. They should be mounted vertically inline with your piping system, so gas flows up from the bottom. As gas passes through, it pushes an indicator up the scale, showing you the flow rate. With an acrylic body, they're completely clear, so you can inspect your gas’s color and clarity for any problems.
    These flowmeters are calibrated with air but can be used with other gases. If you’re using these with a gas other than air, you’ll need to calculate the flow rate by multiplying the number shown on the scale by the specific-gravity conversion factor for your gas.
    Choose a fitting material that is compatible with the gas you're running through your line.

    Flowmeters with a flow-control knob let you open and close the valve at the inlet to adjust the flow rate within the range.
    PVC Fitting—PVC fittings work with a wide range of chemicals. However, they can crack from impact or when overtightened.
    Brass Fitting—Brass fittings resist impact better than PVC fittings.
    303 Stainless Steel Fitting—303 stainless steel fittings resist impact better than PVC fittings.
    316 Stainless Steel Fitting—316 stainless steel fittings resist impact better than PVC fittings.
    1/4 NPT Threaded Female Pipe × 1/2 NPT Threaded Male Pipe—Flowmeters with a female × male connection have internal NPT female threads and external NPT male threads.

    To prevent contaminating your oxygen line, these flowmeters are specially cleaned and bagged. As oxygen flows through, it pushes an indicator up the scale, showing you the flow rate. Mount these flowmeters vertically inline with your oxygen system, so oxygen flows up from the bottom. The flow-control knob lets you open and close the valve at the inlet to adjust the flow rate within the range.
    These flowmeters are calibrated with oxygen but can be used with other gases. If you’re using these with a gas other than oxygen, you’ll need to calculate the flow rate by multiplying the number shown on the scale by the specific-gravity conversion factor for your gas.

    Instead of a scale calibrated to a specific gas’ flow rate, these flowmeters measure in millimeters and include a conversion chart, so you can check the flow rate of water and multiple gases without any calculations. Install them in an instrument panel using the fittings on the back. They should be mounted vertically inline with your pipe system, so your gas flows up from the bottom. As gas flows through, it pushes an indicator up the scale. The flow control knob lets you open and close the inlet valve to adjust the flow rate within the range.
    The conversion chart includes the flow rates for air, argon, carbon dioxide, helium, nitrogen, oxygen, and water. To calculate the flow rate of gases not included on the chart, multiply the flow rate for air by the specific-gravity conversion factor of your gas. Because you’re using gas, you’ll also need to account for temperature and pressure.
