Able to maintain their strength in high-pressure and high-temperature environments, these nuts are used with ASTM A193 bolts to fasten pressure tanks, valves, and flanges. They are heavy nuts, so they’re about 10% wider and taller than standard hex nuts and distribute the load over a large area.

Black-oxide steel nuts have a dark surface color and are mildly corrosion resistant in dry environments.

Zinc-plated steel nuts resist corrosion in wet environments.
