    Anodized Multipurpose 6061 Aluminum Rods

    All the benefits of 6061 aluminum, plus extra wear and corrosion resistance. Bonded with a thick coating (anodizing), these rods resist scratches and won’t degrade as quickly as uncoated rods.
    6061 is the most widely used aluminum, made into everything from pipe fittings to containers to airplane parts. It balances strength and corrosion resistance, not to mention it’s easy to machine and weld.
    Hard Anodize—Our most durable anodized coating, with a surface so hard it rivals case-hardened steel. However, it makes this aluminum more difficult to machine than uncoated aluminum.

    Linear Shafts

    Pair with linear bearings and shaft supports to create smooth, precise motion. These linear shafts are turned, ground, and polished to tight tolerances and hardened to resist wear.
    Lightweight Anodized Aluminum—One-third the weight of steel and corrosion resistant with an ultra-hard coating that resists wear. While the coating is hard, these shafts have a soft core, so they should be used with linear sleeve bearings to avoid denting the shaft.
    Surface Smoothness—The lower the microinch value, the smoother the finish and the less friction it will cause on the bearing.
