    Example Configuration

    Hang your HMI and swivel it around to save floor space and comfortably access touch screens, buttons, and other operating equipment. These suspension arms have already-drilled mounting holes that match our steel enclosures for positioning arms. Route wire from your HMI components to a machine through a hole that runs through the entire arm. To prevent them from swinging too far and hitting people and equipment, locking pins let you restrict how far these arms pivot. Brakes lock their position into place.
    Customize a system for your application—you can create hundreds of different variations. A complete suspension arm requires at least a base, a tube, and a mount. Add components to extend your arm up to 80” from the base and expand its range of motion. Arms without a connector support up to 180 lbs. Those with a connector support up to 135 lbs., but the load it can hold decreases by 2 lbs. for every 1” over 40” from the base.

    Create an HMI that mounts to a positioning arm so you can move it exactly where you need it. The mounting holes in these enclosures align with our positioning arms, while the large center hole lets you route cables from your external HMI components. If you want to mount these enclosures to something else, add a plug to seal the existing holes and drill your own. Use the back cover to service your HMI without taking the enclosure apart or removing it from its mount. Whether mounted to a positioning arm or sealed with a plug, these enclosures safeguard power supplies and wiring from a range of drips and drenches.
    Pick a positioning arm that’s compatible with your enclosure. Steel enclosures match our standard positioning arms. Stainless steel enclosures match our corrosion-resistant positioning arms. They’re not interchangeable.
    Powder-Coated Steel—Inherently strong, these enclosures resist denting and cracking better than our other metal options. The coating forms a barrier against water and mild detergents, but if scratched, the underlying steel may rust.

    Tap into simple, intuitive machine control and monitoring from a single touchscreen display. These HMIs come with software designed specifically to integrate with your PLC, so you don’t need to spend time or money on the complex setup and extra equipment of industrial PCs. The touchscreen activates with firm pressure, so you can use them while wearing gloves. They also work with a stylus, screwdriver handle, and other hard objects.
    The manufacturer’s free PC software guides you through communication setup and screen design using drag-and-drop tools. Preview your layout, test navigation, and catch design errors before you connect to any equipment. When you’re ready, transfer your setup to the HMI with a USB cord, memory card, or Ethernet cord.
    All of our HMIs support the PLCs we currently offer, plus those from systems such as Allen-Bradley and Siemens.
    When mounted in an enclosure, the front of these HMIs is IP rated for protection against dust and light washdowns.
    Pressure Activated Touchscreen
    UV Resistant—UV-resistant HMIs have a coating on the touchscreen that blocks 99.9% of UV rays from the sun. This helps protect the electrical components from heat damage. It also reduces glare, so you can see the touchscreen better in direct sunlight.
    IP68 Enclosure Rating—Those that are IP68 rated are protected from temporary submersion.
    Number of Supported Communication Drivers—Use the number of supported drivers to gauge compatibility. If your PLC is common, HMIs with fewer drivers likely support it, so you won’t need to pay for extra compatibility. Drivers for specific PLCs save you setup time. However, you can always use a standard protocol such as Modbus RTU or EtherNet/IP—just expect more manual setup.
    Maximum Screen Brightness—Maximum screen brightness is measured in candelas per square meter (cd/m2). 400 cd/m2 is similar to an office monitor, 800 cd/m2 suits bright factory floors, and 1200 cd/m2 stays visible even in direct sunlight.

    Monitor HMI covers make it easy to access HMI devices, push-buttons, and other electronics mounted on the exterior of an enclosure through a clear window without opening the cover. These covers make it easy to view and access components while keeping contents safe from water, oil, dust, and weather.
    Quick-Release-Latch Closure, Slotted-Latch Closure, and Twist-Latch Closure—Covers with a quick-release, slotted, or twist-latch closure offer easy access without the need for keys or removing screws.
    Screw Closure, Tamper-Resistant-Screw Closure, Key-Lock Closure, and Two-Way-Key Closure—Covers with screws, tamper-resistant screws, a key lock, or a two-way key closure add security and protect components from unauthorized changes. These covers are not ideal for applications requiring frequent, easy access to enclosures.
    316 Stainless Steel Cover—316 stainless steel covers are highly resistant to corrosion, so they’re good for washdown environments. They’re not as durable as steel.
    Steel Cover—Steel covers are more durable than 316 stainless steel covers.
    Polycarbonate Cover—Resist dents, scratches, and cracks.
    2 3/4" Deep and 3 1/2" Deep—2 3/4”, 3 7/16”, and 3 1/2" deep covers have raised covers for additional space, making them best for shielding large components.

    Quick-Release-Latch Closure, Slotted-Latch Closure, and Twist-Latch Closure—Covers with a quick-release, slotted, or twist-latch closure offer easy access without the need for keys or removing screws.
    Screw Closure, Tamper-Resistant-Screw Closure, Key-Lock Closure, and Two-Way-Key Closure—Covers with screws, tamper-resistant screws, a key lock, or a two-way key closure add security and protect components from unauthorized changes. These covers are not ideal for applications requiring frequent, easy access to enclosures.
    316 Stainless Steel Cover—316 stainless steel covers are highly resistant to corrosion, so they’re good for washdown environments. They’re not as durable as steel.
    Polycarbonate Cover—Resist dents, scratches, and cracks.

    Example Configuration

    Hang your HMI in areas with frequent washdowns. Made of 304 stainless steel, these arms resist corrosion from most cleaners and detergents. They’re also gasketed at every joint to seal out moisture. Since they suspend from surfaces, they won’t take up valuable floor space. The joints pivot, so you can position your HMI right where you need it. A brake locks the position in place. Use the locking pins to set how far these arms swing to keep them out of the way. Route wire to and from your HMI through a hole that runs through the entire arm.
    These arms are designed to mount to our stainless steel enclosures for positioning arms. A complete arm requires a base, tube, and mount. If you want to mount your arm to a wall or other vertical surface, you’ll need a bracket. Add an adapter if you want to tilt the enclosure. Arms that are 20" long support up to 250 lbs. For each additional inch, load capacity decreases by 2 lbs.
