From chemical plants to refineries, these HMIs let you safely control and monitor equipment in areas where flammable and combustible gases, vapors, and liquids may escape from leaks or failures. They’re rated for use in NEC Class 1, Division 2 hazardous locations. Since they come with a touchscreen and software designed specifically to integrate with your PLC, you don’t need to spend time or money on the complex setup and extra equipment of industrial PCs.

The manufacturer’s free PC software guides you through communication setup and screen design using drag-and-drop tools. Preview your layout, test navigation, and catch design errors before you connect to any equipment. When you’re ready, transfer your setup to the HMI with a USB cord, memory card, or Ethernet cord.

All of our HMIs support the PLCs we currently offer, plus those from systems such as Allen-Bradley and Siemens. Use the number of supported drivers to gauge compatibility. If your PLC is common, HMIs with fewer drivers likely support it, so you won’t need to pay for extra compatibility. However, you can always use a standard protocol such as Modbus RTU or EtherNet/IP—just expect more manual setup.

When mounted in an enclosure, the front of these HMIs is NEMA 4X and IP rated for protection against dust and light washdowns.

HMIs with a pressure-activated touchscreen respond to firm pressure, so you can use them while wearing gloves. They also work with a stylus, screwdriver handle, and other hard objects.

HMIs with a gesture-enabled touchscreen let you tap, swipe, pinch, and more to quickly navigate through dashboards and trigger actions. Keep in mind that these HMIs won’t work with gloves unless they’re touchscreen compatible.

All of these HMIs are compatible with RFID readers. HMIs with a built-in RFID antenna let you log in and trigger actions without external readers, reducing components that could spark or fail.

Maximum screen brightness is measured in candelas per square meter (cd/m^²). 400 cd/m^² is similar to an office monitor, 800 cd/m^² suits bright factory floors, and 1200 cd/m^² stays visible even in direct sunlight.

Add a screen protector (sold separately) to take the hits and scratches before your HMI does. They’re tested to meet ASTM D3363 7H standards for hardness, so they’ll stand up to sharp objects. A chemical-resistant coating also withstands grease, oil, and cleaners.
