Detect hot spots, leaks, moisture problems, and construction defects invisible to the eye. These imaging guns translate thermal energy into a color image that indicates hotter areas as brighter and cooler areas as darker, so it’s easy to identify and diagnose problems on instrument panels, HVAC systems, and other equipment. To review footage at a later date, use them to take photos and videos. The lower a camera’s thermal sensitivity, the more precise heat differences it will detect for more detailed images. All are CE marked as meeting European standards for health, safety, and environmental protection. Some include a calibration certificate traceable to NIST stating they’ve passed a test for accuracy.

Monitor the temperature of molten steel, furnaces, glass, and other hazardous surfaces without touching them. A built-in transmitter reads surface energy levels and converts them to analog and digital output values that can be read by a receiving device, such as a PLC. Because of this, you can use these transmitters for measuring and switching applications.
Adjust set points, emissivity range, and other settings on-site using the buttons on the transmitters. Connect transmitters to an IO-link controller (not included) to change settings remotely and alert you to errors on PLCs and human-machine interfaces.
Plug these transmitters into shielded M12 sockets since they're extremely prone to signal interference. These transmitters connect using two wires to send a 4-20mA current output and four wires to use the switching output and IO-link. Connect to pin 5 to utilize the test function to verify that the transmitter's signal processing is working correctly. To view transmitter wiring diagrams, select a part number and click Product Detail.
Their lenses resist scratches, which could cause transmitters to lose focus. All are IP-rated for protection against dust and low-pressure jets of water.
Transmitters can be used on all surfaces.
Add accessories to protect your infrared thermometer transmitter in hot or dirty environments.
Laser Sight—For best results when measuring at an angle or working on round or uneven surfaces, use transmitters with laser sight.
0.78 μm to 1.06 μm Wavelength Range—Transmitters with a wavelength range of 0.78–1.06 microns are best for use with glass.
1 μm to 1.7 μm Wavelength Range—Use transmitters with a wavelength range of 1–1.7 microns on metal, ceramics, and graphite.
8 μm to 14 μm Wavelength Range—Transmitters with a wavelength range of 8–14 microns are useful for plastic, fabrics, food products, and other metal-free surfaces.
303 Stainless Steel Housing—Made of 303 stainless steel, these transmitters resist corrosion.

Modules with a fixed infrared motion and thermal sensor can detect if a person is moving or even just present within the sensing distance. That means you could use them to automate lighting in an office where workers are sitting still. To connect them to your device, solder on wires or headers. For a solderless connection, use a Qwiic cord.

    Sensors

Three times more sensitive than standard refrigerant detectors, these infrared detectors can identify leaks as small as 0.03 oz. per year. They have an easy-to-read LCD screen that displays the concentration of gas in parts per million (PPM). When a leak is detected, a digital display lights up and the device emits a sound. Check for leaks in hard-to-reach areas using the built-in flexible probe. Use them to detect a variety of halogenated refrigerants.

To confirm the accuracy of noncontact temperature readings of dangerous and inaccessible surfaces, these thermometers come with a calibration certificate traceable to NIST that states they’ve passed a test for accuracy.
Warning: These infrared thermometers are not intended for medical use. Use Noncontact Forehead Thermometers for medical use.
Adjustable Emissivity—Thermometers with adjustable emissivity can be calibrated for more accurate readings of shiny surfaces than thermometers with fixed emissivity.
Maximum Distance—Maximum working distance is the distance a one inch target can be reliably measured.

Keep these small thermometers in your pocket or toolkit to spot check the temperature of dangerous, hard-to-reach, and moving surfaces without touching them.
Warning: These infrared thermometers are not intended for medical use.
Adjustable Emissivity—Thermometers with adjustable emissivity can be calibrated for more accurate readings of shiny surfaces than thermometers with fixed emissivity.
Laser Sight—Thermometers with laser sight have a red beam of light to indicate the precise area being measured.
Bluetooth—Thermometers with Bluetooth wirelessly send temperature results to an app downloaded to your smartphone. Use the app to adjust the emissivity.
Maximum Distance—Maximum working distance is the distance a one inch target can be reliably measured.
