    About Selecting Thermal Insulation

Compare R-value and temperature range to find the insulation material that best suits your application.

    Fiberglass Pipe Insulation

When foam can't handle the heat, go with fiberglass insulation. It withstands temperatures hundreds of degrees hotter than rubber or polyethylene foam, so it's often used on hot water supply and steam lines.

    PVC Jacket

Ready to fit over right-angle pipe bends. Just pull open the insulation, snap it around your pipe, and seal it closed with the included ties.
PVC Jacket—A tough shell prevents damage from bumps and scuffs during maintenance, as well as from equipment vibration.
Insulation Tapes—Wrap around pipe insulation for a tighter seal.

    Rubber Foam Pipe Insulation

Easy to cut and shape, this highly flexible insulation fits a variety of pipe layouts. It repels moisture to keep temperatures stable and protect pipes from corroding, extending your system's life.

Slide these elbows over new right-angle pipe bends as you assemble a line. You can also cut them wherever you need to make custom splits.
Buna-N/PVC Foam—Lighter and more durable than EPDM foam, this foam also withstands exposure to oil. However, it's less flexible than EPDM.
Coatings—Add a coating of acrylic paint to repel moisture and protect against UV and ozone damage.
Contact Adhesives—Secure insulation to pipes and seal gaps between sections.

    Ultra-Thermally-Insulating Polyisocyanurate Foam Pipe Insulation

Our best pipe insulation for maintaining temperatures. Use it on long runs where temperatures must stay constant, such as in refrigeration systems or to move liquified natural gas. Polyisocyanurate insulation resists moisture, so it maintains its thermal performance and prevents corrosion underneath.

A different shrink ratio on each end allows this tubing to fit over cable assemblies and wire harnesses with large connections, or around connectors with a 90° elbow. An adhesive lining melts when the tubing is heated and bonds to the underlying surface, creating a water-resistant seal. The tubing length listed is after shrinking; the length before shrinking is 20-25% shorter.
Lipped End—Lipped-end tubing has a ridge on the inside of one opening for better retention than nonlipped-end tubing. It’s often used with grooved adapters—upon shrinking, the lip grips onto the groove.
Dielectric Strength—Dielectric strength is the maximum voltage a material can handle before it starts to breakdown. The higher the dielectric strength of a material, the better it is for preventing electricity, heat, or signal from dissipating from wire and cable.
