    Heat-Reflective Aluminized Jackets

Image of Product. Front orientation. Jackets. Heat-Reflective Aluminized Jackets.
Often used in steel mills and glass plants, aluminized clothing reflects radiant heat and protects against sparks. These jackets have no pockets so they won’t trap hot particles. They have snaps down the front and on the cuffs. A flap down the front has pull tabs to allow for quick removal.
When measuring chest size, measure around the fullest part of your chest. Jackets are oversized to fit over work clothes; take all measurements over any clothing you expect to wear under the jacket.
Rayon Fabric—Rayon provides good radiant-heat protection as well as moderate spark protection and protection against molten metal splashes.
Fiberglass/Kevlar Fabric—Fiberglass/Kevlar blend combines good heat resistance with excellent abrasion and cut resistance, in addition to offering protection against molten metal splashes.
Kevlar/Melamine Fabric—Kevlar/Melamine blend is lighter than other Kevlar blends. It provides excellent heat and abrasion resistance without weighing you down.
Carbon Fiber/Kevlar Fabric—Carbon Fiber/Kevlar blend is a heavyweight fabric that lasts longer than other Kevlar blends. It holds up in higher temperatures than other materials while providing excellent abrasion and cut resistance. It provides protection against molten metal splashes.

    Protection

Green—Green jackets have a silver stripe that reflects light, so you stand out better in poorly lit places than with orange jackets. Made of 12 oz. cotton—similar in thickness to a canvas tarp—these jackets can withstand more wear than orange jackets. They meet NFPA 70E standards for protection against electrical arc flashes for personal protection equipment (PPE) category 2. Check the PPE category and minimum arc rating provided for your workplace, and then select all required clothing and personal protective equipment to meet the minimum arc rating. Arc rating measures a garment’s ability to insulate the wearer from burns; the higher the arc rating, the greater the flame resistance.

    Molten-Metal Protection Coats

Image of Product. Front orientation. Jackets. Molten-Metal Protection Coats.
Less bulky and more breathable than aluminized coats, these fabric coats protect you from heat and splashes of molten metal. Since they're not reflective, they're best for areas where radiant heat isn't a concern. A blend of cellulose, nylon, and wool makes these coats inherently flame resistant, so they'll continue to protect you after repeat washing. Store tools in an inside pocket to keep them safe from splashes. Close with snaps on the front and the cuffs.

Protect your torso, hands, and eyes from sparks, spatter, and heat in welding areas. Each of these kits come with basic safety gear, common welding accessories, and a four-gallon bucket for easy gear transport. The included jacket protects against low radiant heat, with leather sleeves for added heat protection and cut resistance. Three pairs of gloves—one for TIG welding, one for stick welding, and one pair of standard leather work gloves—ensure you have the hand protection you need. These kits also come with two pairs of glasses: shaded ones to guard from harmful infrared light, plus a pair of standard safety glasses. When measuring chest size, measure around the fullest part of your chest. Take all measurements over any clothing you expect to wear under the coveralls.

    Style A

    Style B

Keep cool and be seen—these vests protect you from the heat and help you stand out when visibility is low.
Style A—Style A vests hold water that slowly evaporates to keep you cool for up to four hours. Soak them in cold water for a few minutes, and polymer crystals in the fabric will absorb large amounts of water. As you move, airflow creates a cool, damp sensation to lower your body temperature. A polyester/nylon shell won’t weigh you down, and a mesh bottom helps with ventilation.
Style B—Style B vests hold cooling packs that stay at 58° F for up to three hours. You can use these both indoors and outdoors as they don’t require airflow to cool you down. Their polyester exterior helps keep water out while a cotton liner has a thermal layer to keep you cool. They come with an insulated cooler bag to keep packs cold before use. To keep cool for longer, keep replacement cooling packs on hand.
ANSI/ISEA 107—Vests meet ANSI/ISEA 107, so they've passed tests for visibility at high speeds and distances. That means you'll be seen by fast-moving vehicles or from across the shop floor.

    Style C

Stay safe when it’s hot—these vests cool down your core to protect you in extreme heat.
Style A—Style A vests soak up water that slowly evaporates to keep you cool for up to four hours. Soak them in cold water for a few minutes, and polymer crystals in the fabric will absorb large amounts of water. As you move, airflow creates a cool, damp sensation to lower your body temperature. Lightweight and flexible, these vests are made of nylon, with a mesh bottom to help with ventilation.
Style B—Style B vests hold water in a reservoir, which slowly evaporates to cool you down. Though they don't get as cold as other options, they last much longer, keeping you cool all day. Plus, you'll only need to refill the reservoir every three days. The most durable option, they have a rigid polyurethane shell, with a nylon liner for comfort. These vests have elastic hook and loop straps, making them the most adjustable style.
Style C—Style C vests have cooling packs that stay at 64° F for up to two hours. They don’t require airflow to cool you down, so you can wear them indoors as well as outdoors. Rechill the cooling packs in a freezer, fridge, or even in front of an air conditioner. To keep cool for longer, keep replacement cooling packs on hand.
