Replace the U-shaped fluorescent bulbs in your fixture or upgrade to LED. These bulbs are often used in 2'×2' ceiling lights. Select a light appearance to match your existing lighting. Bulbs with more than one light appearance have a switch which allows you to match other lights in the room.

LED bulbs last longer and are more efficient than fluorescent bulbs. They’re compatible with most instant-start electronic ballasts, or you can use them in sockets wired directly to the power source. Check if your ballast is compatible by selecting a part number and clicking product detail. These bulbs are made for T8 sockets, but can be used in T12 sockets that are wired directly to a power source.

Plastic-coated glass bulbs are shatter resistant. If the glass breaks, the coating keeps shards from falling.
