When a moving object contacts the actuator on these switches, they open or close a circuit. They have the rapid-closing action of a snap-acting switch, but with a larger actuator. This makes them a good choice for use with large objects—for instance, a box on a conveyor runs into the switch, stopping the conveyor.
Plunger Actuator—Switches with a plunger actuator require a push to actuate, similar to a button.
Roller Plunger Actuator—Switches with a roller plunger actuator have a roller that moves when an object pushes the actuator. This reduces friction during actuation to limit wear and tear on your switch.
Cross Roller Plunger Actuator—Switches with a cross roller plunger actuator have a roller that moves when an object pushes the actuator. This reduces friction during actuation to limit wear and tear on your switch. The roller moves perpendicular to the mounting direction.
Roller Lever Actuator—Switches with a roller lever actuator use a lever with a roller at the end to activate. This allows parts to glide across the actuation surface with minimal friction, limiting wear and tear on your switch.
Rod Actuator—Switches with a rod actuator use a rod extending out of the body to actuate, so they’ll activate even if an object is far away.
Wobble Stick Actuator—Switches with a wobble stick actuator have an arm that rotates 360°, so you don’t need to align it in a specific direction. Since the actuator is flexible, it won’t snap if pushed backward. That makes these switches a great choice for systems that get jammed often.
Styles E and F—Styles E and F let you adjust the actuator’s height to align it with your target.
NEMA 13 Enclosure Rating—Switches rated NEMA 13 are protected against dirt and oil/coolant spraying.
IP67 Enclosure Rating—Switches rated IP67 are protected against dust and temporary submersion.

Rated NEMA 3S and IP69K, these switches can handle washdowns with high pressures and temperatures. They’re also protected from oil/coolant spraying, precipitation, and temporary submersion. When an object in motion contacts the actuator, it sends a signal to open or close a circuit. These switches have the rapid-closing action of a snap-acting switch, but with a larger actuator. This makes them a good choice for use with large objects—for instance, a box on a conveyor runs into the switch, stopping the conveyor.
Plunger Actuator—Switches with a plunger actuator require a push to actuate, similar to a button.
Roller Plunger Actuator—Switches with a roller plunger actuator trigger just like a plunger actuator but reduce friction during actuation thanks to their roller. This limits wear and tear on the switch.
Roller Lever Actuator—Switches with a roller lever actuator combine the larger actuation area of a standard lever with a smooth gliding roller actuator. They minimize friction to limit wear and tear on your switch.
Styles D-F—Styles D, E, and F let you adjust the actuator’s height to align it with your target.

Protect machinery and ensure the safety of personnel—these switches have positive-force contacts that will open the circuit when actuated even if a spring fails or the contacts stick. When an object in motion comes into contact with the actuator, it sends a signal to open or close a circuit. These switches have the rapid-closing action of a snap-acting switch, but with a larger actuator. This makes them a good choice for use with large objects—for instance, a box on a conveyor runs into the switch, stopping the conveyor.
Style F—Styles D, E, and F have an actuator that allows you to adjust its height, making it easier to align switch with the target during installation.
Plastic Actuator—Switches with a plastic actuator limit wear and tear on passing objects better than switches with a steel actuator.
Steel Actuator—Switches with a steel actuator are more durable than switches with a plastic actuator. They also handle higher loads.

Shorter and thinner than other safety limit switches, these are sized to fit tight spaces. They protect machinery and ensure the safety of personnel. Positive-force contacts open the circuit when actuated, even if a spring fails or the contacts stick. They send a signal to your circuit when an object hits the actuator—for instance, a box on a conveyor runs into the switch, stopping the conveyor. They open and close circuits as fast as snap-acting switches, but they have a bigger actuator for large objects. All are NEMA and IP rated for protection from washdowns.
Plunger Actuator—Switches with a plunger actuator require a push to actuate, similar to a button.
Roller Plunger Actuator—Switches with a roller plunger actuator have a roller that moves parallel to the mounting direction when an object pushes the actuator. This reduces friction during actuation to limit wear and tear on your switch.
Roller Lever Actuator—Switches with a roller lever actuator use a lever with a roller at the end to activate. This allows parts to glide across the actuation surface with minimal friction, limiting wear and tear.
Wobble Stick Actuator—Switches with a wobble stick actuator have an arm that rotates 360°, so you don’t need to align it in a specific direction. The actuator won’t snap if pushed backward, such as if there’s a jam in your system.
Style E—Styles E and F have an actuator that allows you to adjust its height, making it easier to align the switch with the target during installation.
NEMA 13 Enclosure Rating and IP67 Enclosure Rating—NEMA 13 and IP67 rated switches are protected from oil/coolant spraying and temporary submersion.

Safely open or close a circuit near ignitable gases and dust—the housing on these switches seals in anything that could ignite flammable material. You'll know they're safe because they're NEC Class I, Divisions 1, 2 Groups B, C, and D; and Class II, Divisions 1, 2 Groups E, F, and G certified for hazardous locations. These switches send a signal to your circuit when an object hits the actuator—for instance, a box on a conveyor runs into the switch, stopping the conveyor. They open and close circuits as fast as snap-acting switches, but they have a bigger actuator for large objects.
Plunger Actuator—Switches with a plunger actuator let you adjust the actuator’s height to easily align it with your target. They require a push to activate, similar to a button.
Wobble Stick Actuator—Switches with a wobble stick actuator have an arm that rotates 360°, so you don’t need to align it in a specific direction. The actuator won’t snap if pushed backward, such as if there’s a jam in your system.

Detect unwanted slowdowns in a rotary shaft that could cause machine damage and downtime. These switches are often used on drivetrains, conveyors, and other power-driven components. They come with a pulser disc, which you’ll need to attach to the shaft by drilling and tapping a hole. Once mounted, the disc rotates with the shaft and creates magnetic signals that the switch senses. When the speed falls below a set point, the switch will trigger an alarm or turn off the system.
Switches are UL listed and rated NEC Class I, Divisions 1 and 2, Groups C and D; and Class II, Divisions 1 and 2, Groups E, F, and G. They have an explosion-proof housing and are also rated NEMA 4X for washdown and corrosion protection.

Also known as interlock switches, these ensure the safety of personnel by automatically shutting off power to machinery when an access door opens. Mount the switch to the door frame and mount a key to the door so that the key is inserted into the switch when the door is closed. When the door opens, the key is removed from the switch and the machine shuts down. They’re often used with machine guards for large robots.
Styles B and C—Style A-G switches have positive-force, normally closed contacts that will open a circuit when the switch is actuated even if a spring fails or the contacts stick.
IP67 Enclosure Rating—IP67 rated switches protect against temporary submersion.
NEMA 4 Enclosure Rating—NEMA 4 rated switches protect against washdowns.
NEMA 6 Enclosure Rating—NEMA 6 rated switches protect against both temporary submersion and washdowns.
Key Included—All switches require an actuator key, but not all include one—check whether you need to pick out a separate actuator key. For some switch styles, you can also select the mounting orientation of the key.

Also known as inductive proximity sensors, these detect metallic objects even if they’re obscured by water, oil, dirt, or a surface finish. Sensing distance is based on the target material. The distance listed is for mild steel. They’re often used with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and produce PNP or NPN signal output. To determine the signal output of a sensor you are replacing, use Testers for Proximity and Photoelectric Sensors (not included).
Also available: If you don’t see the sensor you need, please select 73635K999 and specify manufacturer and manufacturer part number.
IP67 Enclosure Rating—IP67 and IP68 rated sensors are protected from temporary submersion.
NEMA 6P Enclosure Rating—NEMA 6P rated sensors are protected from corrosion and washdowns.
Flush Mount—Flush sensors, also known as embeddable or shielded sensors, can be mounted so that the sensor face is level with the surface of any material, including metal. They’re more accurate than projecting sensors at close range and can be mounted close together without causing interference.
Projecting Mount—Projecting sensors, also known as non-embeddable or unshielded sensors, must be mounted with the area around the sensor face free of metal. They have a longer sensing distance than flush sensors with the same diameter.
IO-Link Communication Protocol—Sensors with IO-link can be configured remotely when connected to a PLC, a human-machine interface (HMI), or a computer.
Plug In—Sensors with a plug connect to cables with a socket (sold separately), allowing you to quickly connect and disconnect the sensor.

Rated NEMA 6P, 12, IP68 and IP69K, these sensors protect against corrosion and high-pressure, high-temperature washdowns. Also known as capacitive proximity sensors, they remotely sense both metallic and nonmetallic objects but their strength is in sensing materials such as plastic, ceramic, and clear targets. They’re often used with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and produce PNP or NPN signal output. To determine the signal output of a sensor you are replacing, use Testers for Proximity and Photoelectric Sensors (not included). They mount flush with the surface of any material, including metal, and are also known as embeddable or shielded sensors. The 4-pole M12 plug connects to cables with sockets (sold separately), allowing you to quickly connect and disconnect the sensor.

    Ultrasonic Switches

Detect objects and liquid or material levels to set off actions in your system—regardless of size, shape, or surface finish. These switches send out high-frequency sound waves that target small areas, so the surface and structure of your object won't affect results like photoelectric sensors, which sense using light. This makes them great for materials with uneven surfaces, such as granules and powder. They also sense objects when obscured by smoke, dust, debris, or water, but they don't work as well where there's wind, since it could disrupt their sound waves. Once an object is detected or a set level is reached, the digital output sends a signal to your controller to turn components in your system on or off. Use their plug to quickly connect and disconnect to cables with a socket (sold separately). UL listed, C-UL listed, and CE marked, all meet American, Canadian, and European safety standards.
Rated IP67, all of these switches seal out dust and water if briefly submersed.

    Ultrasonic Transmitters

Measure the distance to objects and the level of liquids and materials despite size, shape, or surface finish, and send that information to other parts of your system. Unlike photoelectric switches, which use light to detect objects, these transmitters emit high-frequency sound waves that target small spots, so the surface and structure of your object won’t affect results. This makes them great for materials with uneven surfaces, such as granules and powder. They also sense objects in dirty and wet places, but they don’t work well where there’s wind, since it could disrupt their sound waves. Use their plug to quickly connect and disconnect to cables with a socket (sold separately). UL listed, C-UL listed, and CE marked, they meet American, Canadian, and European safety standards.
All transmitters have an analog output, which means they continuously send measurements to monitor status and manage components in your system.
Rated IP67, all of these transmitters seal out dust and water if briefly submersed.

Sense objects from farther away than with other proximity sensors that have the same diameter. Also known as inductive proximity sensors, they remotely sense metallic objects even if they’re obscured by water, oil, dirt, or a surface finish. Sensing distance is based on the type of material being sensed. The distance listed is for mild steel. All are rated NEMA 6P, 13, IP67 and IP69K.
Also available: If you don’t see the sensor you need, please select 1429T999 and specify manufacturer and manufacturer part number.
Plug In—Sensors with a 3-pole M8 plug connect to cables with a socket (sold separately), allowing you to quickly connect and disconnect the sensor.
