    Locking Tie Rod Air Cylinders

    Halt actuation at a moment’s notice—these air cylinders have an end lock that acts as an emergency stop. If there's a sudden loss of air pressure, the end lock engages to safely hold the load. You can also set them to stop anywhere along the stroke length as a simpler alternative to electric actuators. Rods along the barrel secure the end caps and shield the barrel from impact. These air cylinders are double acting, meaning they extend and retract with nearly equal force. All have adjustable air cushions that absorb piston impact to minimize wear and noise.
    The magnetic piston inside these cylinders can activate relays and controllers when used with a sensor (sold separately). When the piston moves past the sensor, the sensor activates. You can use multiple sensors—attach one for each action to trigger.

    Locking Air Slides

    Prevent sudden drops while raising and lowering grippers and other pick-and-place equipment. A safety end lock engages when air pressure is lost, stopping loads from falling or slamming against the air slide. The air slide guide rods keep the head from twisting as it extends and retracts for steadier motion than air cylinders. These air slides also have a larger mounting surface area compared to air cylinders, so you can mount or push larger items at the end of the slide.
    The piston is magnetic, so it can activate relays and controllers when used with a sensor (sold separately). When the piston moves past the sensor, the sensor activates. You can use multiple sensors—attach one for each action to trigger.

    Pair one of these gas springs with a release control to stop and release the gas spring anywhere along the stroke with the push of a button or lever. A valve on the rod end controls extension and compression and is operated with a release control (sold separately). Gas springs have a ball socket end fitting and ball stud on one end for mounting. The ball socket end fitting rotates in any direction on the ball stud to compensate for misalignment.

    These gas springs are often used to control the force that opens and closes machine guards, access hatches, storage compartments, and other lift-assist equipment. Press on the overlapping sleeve to unlock these gas springs when it’s safe for them to compress. To mount them, each end has a ball socket fitting and ball stud; the fitting rotates in any direction on the stud to compensate for misalignment.
    Note: When using two gas springs together in a locking application, use one locking spring and one nonlocking spring.
    316 Stainless Steel Body—Automatically locking when fully extended and made of 316 stainless steel to resist corrosion, these gas springs protect material and equipment underneath heavy loads in damp environments.

    Protect material and equipment underneath heavy loads—these gas springs lock automatically when fully extended, ensuring they can't be closed until it's safe to do so.
