Etching Pens

Write on tools or other metal surfaces without worrying about the marks wearing off. These pens contain an acid solution that flows like ink and removes a thin layer of metal to create permanent black marks. For best results, apply to clean, dry surfaces to prevent the solution from spreading. When you’re done marking, let the solution dry completely.

Etchers

Mark surfaces with handwritten messages, designs, or logos. Draw your message on a stencil sheet using a scriber or other sharp point, then place the stencil on your metal marking surface. To transfer the message, wet the pad on the etcher with etching solution and press it over the stencil, then touch the grounding wire to your marking surface to activate the solution. Marks are black. Use the included DC voltage adapter clip to make clear and frosted marks.

Air-Powered Engravers

More powerful than electric engravers, these engravers let you create the same markings in fewer passes and with less effort. Adjust the stroke speed with a continuous dial to control the depth of your marks. Low stroke speed creates shallow lines and is best for soft materials, such as wood and plastic. High stroke speed creates deep lines and is best for hard materials, such as metal. These engravers need lubrication to work properly.

Deep Marking Air-Powered Engravers

Our fastest, deepest-cutting handheld engravers create marks that stay crisp and clear, even with wear and tear over time. With 30,000 strokes per minute, they can also make deep markings on hard materials. However, you can’t adjust their high stroke speed, so they may be too fast for shallow marking and engraving legibly on soft materials. These engravers need lubrication to work properly.
