    About Copper, Brass & Bronze
    industrial info icon

Compare over 30 copper, brass, and bronze alloys to find the right material for you—all with material certificates for traceability.

    Polished Marine-Grade 464 Brass Sheets

Create decorative accents, panels, and fixtures exposed to salt water. With a smoother surface than unpolished 464 brass, these sheets have a uniform finish for a sleek, warm look. A peel-off film shields the surface until you're ready to work.
464 brass combines corrosion resistance, strength, and weldability. Developed as a lead-free alternative to 485 brass, it's also easy to machine because it contains zinc.
Brushed—With a #4 satin finish, this brass has grain lines that run one way to mask fingerprints and minor scratches. These lines also reduce glare.
Mirror Like—Polished to a #8 reflective finish, this brass is free of grain lines and grooves. You can quickly detect defects on the mirror-like surface. However, it scratches more easily than brushed brass.

    Architectural 385 Brass U-Channels

Image of Product. Front orientation. Brass. Architectural 385 Brass U-Channels.
From handrails and hinges to ornamental trim, create parts where appearances matter. Known as architectural bronze, 385 brass weathers to a rich, dark-brown patina, so it’s often turned into decorative accents. It’s highly machinable and stronger than 360 brass, the easiest alloy to machine. You can even bend it into detailed shapes. However, you may need a furnace or forge since it’s typically formed between 1150° and 1350° F.

Highly Machinable Marine-Grade 485 Brass Rods

Image of Product. Front orientation. Brass. Highly Machinable Marine-Grade 485 Brass Rods.
The best marine-grade brass to drill, mill, and turn. Also called high-leaded naval brass, 485 contains lead for better machinability than 464 brass without losing strength or corrosion resistance. It's a top choice for threaded marine hardware, such as valve stems.

    Architectural 385 Brass Rods

Image of Product. Front orientation. Brass. Architectural 385 Brass Rods.

Image of Product. Front orientation. Brass. Marine-Grade 464 Brass Sheets.
From pump and propeller shafts to marine hardware and rivets, use 464 brass for parts that last in salt water. It combines corrosion resistance, strength, and weldability. Developed as a lead-free alternative to 485 brass, it's also easy to machine because it contains zinc.
