This Alloy 22 nickel resists highly corrosive environments better than similar nickel alloys, including 625 and C-276. High chromium and molybdenum content prevents it from oxidizing when exposed to hydrochloric, sulfuric, and nitric acid at high temperatures. This alloy won’t form stress cracks from sulfides, and resists corrosion from alkalies such as sodium hydroxide and ammonium. It also prevents pitting from chloride better than stainless steel. With crevice corrosion protection, it won’t corrode in gaps between surfaces. Alloy 22 nickel is easy to weld, and remains strong and corrosion resistant after welding and reshaping. This material is equivalent to Hastelloy C-22.

200 nickel is over 98% pure, so it offers corrosion resistance along with good formability, weldability, and electrical conductivity. It is often used in food-processing equipment and chemical shipping drums.

Strong, corrosion-resistant, and stable for long-term use at up to 1800° F, these Haynes® 230 nickel sheets are often used in furnaces and heat-treatment facilities. Containing tungsten and molybdenum for strength, they can be up to 75% thinner than other high-temperature alloy sheets while achieving the same load-bearing capacity. They’ll also last up to 100 times as long as other high-temperature alloys, such as stainless steel and nickel alloys. They’ll resist corrosion in extreme heat, even from harsh chemicals such as sulfuric and hydrochloric acid. Haynes 230® nickel can be used in environments for nitriding—a process used to make steel more corrosion resistant—without being damaged. It’s easily welded, and retains its properties after welding and reshaping.

From marine hardware to chemical-processing equipment, 400 nickel is widely used for its strength, weldability, and formability. Comparable to Monel, this nickel-copper alloy will stand up to highly corrosive environments, such as those involving salt water, sulfuric acid, and alkalies.

Often used in industrial furnaces, chemical processing, and heat-treating equipment, these 800 nickel sheets and bars withstand temperatures up to 1800° F. They also resist corrosion and oxidation from harsh chemicals and acids. 800 nickel is comparable to Incoloy 800.

Able to withstand temperatures up to 1000° F, 600 nickel is often used in high-temperature applications, such as in jet engines or heat exchangers. It withstands harsher chemicals and acids than stainless steel. It is comparable to Inconel 600.

This nickel-iron-cobalt alloy expands at the same rate as glass when heated. It offers better machinability than Invar 36 and is often used anywhere a dependable glass-to metal seal is required, such as in diodes and microwave tubes.

C276 nickel has excellent corrosion resistance against chemicals, including nitric acid, sulfuric acid, and hydrochloric acid. It’s better than stainless steel at protecting from chloride pitting, so it’s often used around bleach in paper manufacturing. This alloy also will not develop stress cracks from contact with sulfides, making it good for use in petrochemical applications. C276 nickel is easy to weld and remains corrosion resistant after welding. It retains its strength after being reshaped. C276 nickel is comparable to Hastelloy C276.

Because Invar 36 holds its size and shape when temperatures rise, this nickel-iron alloy is the go-to material when dimensional stability is required. It is commonly used when precision is a priority, such as for scientific instruments and optical devices.

Even in temperatures up to 2000° F, Alloy X nickel offers good strength and weldability, along with excellent oxidation resistance. It's often used for components in gas turbine engines and furnaces. This material is equivalent to Inconel HX and Hastelloy X.

Often used for cryogenic tanks and fasteners, these sheets and bars maintain their high strength in temperatures from -300° to 1200° F, even after long-term exposure. They can also be heat treated for added strength. 718 nickel is comparable to Inconel 718.
