Garnet Sanding Sheets

Widely used in woodworking, these sheets evenly file away to create a smooth surface. The garnet abrasive produces more consistent finishes than aluminum oxide but is slower to remove material. They are not good for metalworking because the grains dull too quickly.

Paper Abrasive Backing—The standard, most economical option. It's good for high-volume sanding where you'll go through a lot of sheets.

Grit—The lower the grit number, the rougher the finish. The higher the grit number, the finer the finish.

Aggressive-Removal Garnet Sanding Sheets

A tougher, tear-resistant backing stands up to more pressure than standard garnet sheets. For heavy material removal on wood workpieces, the natural abrasive cuts evenly to produce a smooth surface. Garnet is not good for metalworking because the grains dull too quickly.
