A recess under the hex clinches a panel for a strong hold that won't push, pull, or twist out. When mounted with a lever press, the hex sits flush with the surface and the open end creates a through hole. These are also known as captive standoffs.
18-8 stainless steel standoffs have good corrosion resistance and are nonmagnetic.
Zinc-plated steel standoffs have some corrosion resistance.

Also known as captive standoffs, a recess under the hex clinches the panel for a strong hold that won't push, pull, or twist out. When mounted, the hex sits flush with the surface and the closed end creates a neat, finished appearance. Use a lever press to install.
18-8 stainless steel standoffs have good corrosion resistance and may be mildly magnetic.
Zinc-plated steel standoffs have some corrosion resistance.

Designed to fit in the limited space of compact electronics, such as laptops and hand-held devices, these standoffs have a recess under the head that clinches a panel while splines on the head bite in for an extra-strong hold. Captive Pins

Also known as pilot pins, use these pins to position, pivot, and align components. To install, punch or drill a hole in sheet metal, then use a punch and anvil or arbor press to clinch the head to the metal.
Pins are passivated for added protection against corrosion and oxidation. The ends are chamfered for easy insertion.
PEM® TPS pins work on steel or aluminum sheets. Made of 18-8 stainless steel, they offer a balance of strength and corrosion resistance and may be mildly magnetic.
PEM® TP4 pins work on stainless steel sheets. Made of 400 series stainless steel, they resist wear and abrasion, but are not as corrosion resistant as 18-8 stainless steel pins. Pins may be mildly magnetic.
PEM® MPP pins work with most materials. Made of A286 stainless steel, they're our strongest captive pins, with corrosion resistance comparable to 18-8 stainless steel pins. They are nonmagnetic.
