About Installing Blind Rivets
More
Cam-Lever Double-Locking Quick-Release Pins

To insert and remove these pins, press the button, then flip the lever to release the spring-loaded retaining balls. Two-step locking prevents accidental removal. Use these pins in a hole as close to the diameter as possible, but not larger than the diameter at extended ball height. Pins are made of 17-4 PH stainless steel for strength with some corrosion resistance, and passivated for added protection against corrosion and oxidation. They are magnetic. The handle has a hole to add a ring and lanyard (sold separately). Breaking strength is measured as double shear, which is the force required to break a pin into three pieces.

Core Pins

Mold plastic around these pins to form small holes, or use them to perforate parts. They have a flat head to fit into a counterbored hole. Pins can be machined to fit your application. They're precision-ground to tight tolerances. Made of M2 tool steel, these pins are wear resistant and stay sharp at high temperatures.

Plastic Blind Rivets
Corrosion resistant and nonconductive, these rivets are designed to join plastic, fiberglass, wood, and metal. They join material when you only have access to one side. A low-profile domed head creates a finished appearance.
The combined thickness of material must fall within the rivet's material thickness range. Shear strength is the amount of force it takes to break a rivet from the side, and tensile strength is the amount of pull a rivet can withstand without breaking. Joint strength is also affected by rivet spacing and hole size.
Nylon mandrel absorbs moisture which can affect dimensions and other properties. A tool for plastic blind rivets (sold separately) with a nosepiece that matches the rivet's diameter is required for installation.
